Highlights
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
• Was selected on numerous occasions to manage projects with highly challenging schedule, sequencing, and logistical issues.
• Earned recognition as a company’s most profitable project manager of six for three consecutive years. Managed contracts for five of the six largest projects in company history.
• Directly managed nearly $200 million in construction during ten years as a senior project manager and supervised $360 million in construction in two years as a peer project manager.
• Successfully negotiated contracts and managed the Marketplace Center tenant build-out projects, which involved 103,000 square feet (ground floor and mezzanine were all retail projects), 22 separate contracts, and contract value of $7.7 million over a two-year period. Completed all projects on time, with above average profit.
• Initiated significant changes following a client’s decision to shorten a completion date from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Within three days, had modified the schedule, produced a new budget, and presented a plan to the client that delivered the nearly $16-million facility when requested. Completed the project two days ahead of the revised schedule.
• Delivered an $18-million project $1 million under budget.
• Produced two award-winning AGC “1991 Build Massachusetts†award submissions.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:
• Developed a prototype generic schedule during the construction of multiple projects for a single client—the prototype was then used on subsequent projects to improve start-up times. Worked with designers, subcontractors, and vendors to modify plan details to improve the constructability and efficiency of future projects, tweaking the schedule and expediting delivery time on every project through creative thinking.
• Created spreadsheet templates to increase billing efficiency for project managers.
• Facilitated more efficient project management by implementing revised logic for computerized CPM scheduling.
• Collaborated with computer consultants to develop a company’s first computer network, enabling construction data to be shared among all project managers.
MARKETING/BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
• Nearly tripled sales revenue from $7.5 million to $22 million in four years by establishing a marketing department, defining strategy, and implementing long-term policy.
• Generated new business opportunities that fueled a 100% increase in revenue in one year.
• Prospected opportunities in excess of $180 million, including $85 million in “hot†prospects.
• Increased opportunities for new revenue by expanding prospect databases and championing the extension of geographic boundaries to include growing markets.
