I have over 33 years in construction, with the last sixteen managing TI’s and new construction projects all over the US.
I am a Construction site superintendent, willing to travel. Looking to manage projects in the Northwest, with an eye toward a project management position.
I strive to maximize the performance and skills of all the trades on the projects by openly sharing information and motivating each person to work towards the same goals, enabling an environment where each craftsman feels like a valued member of a team. I also make decisions that positively impact the schedule and help keep the job on track.
I am continually increasing my leadership skills by enrolling in courses that will increase my knowledge, skill level and effectiveness on the job to help consistently meet or exceed the expectations of my employer. I feel that I can add value to your business with my dedication and leadership abilities.
The bottom-line is growth and profitability. My construction savvy, communication skills, and attention to detail allows for a smooth running job from beginning to end. I am a natural leader that is an effective communicator, a proven problem solver who works well under pressure, and can establish excellent rapport with sub-contractors and fellow employees; making me a valuable asset to any team.
Sincerely,
Boyd Kinnan

Most of my work over the last sixteen years has been TI’s, up to 4.5 million dollars. I am continually upgrading and increasing leadership skills with computer classes, STP superintendent classes (by AGC), and estimating class as well as other courses I find interesting.
2004 to present: I’ve spent the last five years with New Hope Builders working on dialysis centers across the US. These projects have special considerations such as reverse osmosis mechanical rooms with epoxy floors and piping done before the installers arrive, as the installers are scheduled months in advance. I installed recessed scales in the floors, and valve boxes for patient treatment. These project locations range from Mississippi to Michigan and Washington to West Virginia.
2002 to 2003: I was the superintendent for James E. Thompson, remodeling public schools on the north cost of California (three months, summer schedule) and banks with vaults in Sana Rosa and San Francisco. I left this position due to an illness.
1997 to 2001: Superintendent with The Eagle Group Inc. I started out putting in Wells Fargo in-store branches from Washington to California. These had 30 day completion schedules. Went on to build a dialysis center in Salinas, CA, and a bank with a vault in Washington from the ground up. We also did numerous office building remodels in the Seattle area, coordinating the permit process and the trade buyouts, as well as managing the budgets and coordinating the schedules.
1994 to 1996: Superintendent with Gaetano Contractors out of Ohio. I oversaw the building of Camelot Music Stores in the major malls of the northwestern states. These had a 10 week start to finish schedule.
1990 to 1993: D. M. Drake Co. GC - Specialist in concrete forms, carpentry, welding, and stair forms.
1984 to 1990: Carpenter Foreman for various AGC contractors in Portland.
1978 to 1980: Carpenter Apprentice Instructor with the JATC at Mt. Hood Community College.
