Construction Manager/Inspector: Overseeing the construction of a $34 million water treatment expansion. Duties included scheduling meetings with owner, contractor and engineer; working knowledge of construction documents (plans and specifications) thus able to assist in providing resolutions between contractor and suppliers/vendors, written correspondence; review and acceptance of contractor monthly pay requests and schedule, review and process change orders, submittals and RFI’s. Performed inspection on all phases of work including footings, reinforcing steel placement, under and above ground pipes and valves, insulation, electrical ductbanks and wireways, loop checks with meggering of conductors, startup with integration of new to existing instrumentation. Ensured daily and monthly reports were compiled and distributed. Additionally, assimilated Operation & Maintenance Manuals and closeout documents.

Merco Construction Engineers, Inc., Camarillo, CA
Project Manager: Administered change orders (CO’s), RFI’s, submittals and drafting correspondence; scheduled projects with CPM’s; maintained open lines of communication with superintendents ensuring projects and subcontractors are properly manned, on schedule and within budget. Ability to read and comprehend contract specifications (drawings and specifications), negotiated disputes arising between owner/subcontractors and vendors; chaired project meetings with owners/designer/subcontractors; ensured daily and monthly reports were compiled and distributed. Oversaw project startups including integration of instrumentation/PLC into existing systems and closeout documentation compilation. Compiled and timely submitted bid proposals on upcoming projects. Managed projects with budgets exceeding $34 million and multiple smaller projects at distant and remote locations.
Partial list of customers: DWP, MWD, UCSB, UCLA, City of Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, San Bernardino County, Riverside City & County, Los Angeles City & County and Long Beach Navel Shipyard consisting of university student housing, tenant improvements, multiple story seismic enhancement, cast-in-place concrete multiple storied structures, under and above ground pipelines, laboratories, water reclamation and potable water facilities, fire stations and pier renovations to name a few.
Safety Officer: Pioneered an Employee Safety Incentive Plan, conducted monthly site safety of projects with reports/pictures identifying unsafe work habits ensuring corrections, designed weekly safety meetings to reflect upcoming work and cooperated in investigations with written reports to Cal/OSHA.
