To potential employers
Re; Resume Cover Letter
Would you like to have an old fashioned, hands on, Senior Superintendent, that is not afraid to get involved in the daily activities on your construction site? One that has kept up with all the latest technologies, is computer literate, can read plans, specifications, and schedules?
I take a very personnel interest in the projects assigned to me. I am there for the duration of my project and work as many hours as it takes to get the job done, I am well versed in both cold and hot weather construction. I am willing to travel to any job site, any where.
Along with over 40 years in the construction industry, 30 as a Superintendent, I have tried to keep up with new technology and continue to learn on every project, I build relationships with Architects, engineers, subcontractors, city officials etc. where ever I go, this is an important part of completing each project on time and in budget.
I read and understand, all MEP plans and specifications, as well as structural and civil. This may not seem important to some, but without the knowledge of all of the subcontractors on the project, it is very hard to coordinate the flow of the work, I know how to plan and implement a schedule, I am experienced with all phases of construction, from site preparation, site utilities, layout and landscaping in addition to the building trades. Knowledge of all trades is to me, a very good asset.
In today’s world, the construction industry must find ways to cut cost by decreasing the days on the job, buying materials at the best possible price and finding new ways to save money on the project without cutting the quality of the work or the finished product, I do all of the above.
In have completed the AGC’s 48 hour intensive OSHA training course, and I have had many updates since then, I have taken the first aid / CPR classes about 20 times over the years, both are expired now and need updated, I have completed Wal-Mart’s SWPPP course, it is also expired at the moment, all of the above could be updated as necessary.
My job safety record is very good, and I will all ways strive to maintain a safe job site.
I live with the fact that I am responsible for keeping the personal that work on my project safe, at all times. I hold weekly safety meetings as well as daily inspections. I have found that job site safety is a partnership to be embraced by every single person present each day.
When you review my resume, you will see what looks like job hopping over the last 7 or 8 years, this is not so, I was with Pogue for 10 years, Architype Design for 5 years, even they ran out of work after 911, this is not job hopping, it is a prelude to the current times that hit the older construction leaders years before the currant crisis, The smaller companies that I worked for simply could not with stand the oncoming depression that, in my opinion, started after 911.
Over the years, I have been involved in estimating, take offs, buy outs, contract negotiations, labor disputes, permitting, and other project management objectives. I have completed many design build projects very successfully. Please review my resume for more information.
I am well versed in all types of construction, from tilt wall, metal, wood, masonry, low rise, etc.. My largest project in today’s dollars would be about 15 million, I have done many remodels, historic renovation, restoration projects, transportation facilities, banks, schools, churches, and much more, I have devoted my entire working career to the construction industry. My salary requirements are completely negotiable.
Thanks for your consideration

“Paul Flowers has been a very efficient and exceptional Superintendent. He is known for his excellent relationships with Owners, Architect’s, and subcontractors. His style of leadership is one not found often on today’s job sites. With his main goal being progress of the schedule and savings of construction costs, he has acquired a following of subcontractors that will do extra work for him because they know of his fairness. This has helped in negotiated contracts, to be able to show and present savings back to the owner. His duties include supervision of the total project from start to finish, coordinating all phases of construction, engineering, layout, supervision of all employees and subcontractors, and working and communicating with owners and inspectors. He is able to read, understand and follow bar charts and is proficient on the computer to keep and maintain company records.”

“I was a contract PM for Rollins Truck Leasing (owner's rep) and had an opportunity to work with Paul on the construction of a Rollins Facility in Wichita, KS. Paul was the project superintendent for the GC we hired to construct the facility.
We worked together on this project for its entire duration, approximately a year. I also worked with Paul on several smaller remodel projects for Rollins in the Nashville area. Paul was responsible for the day to day operations of the jobsite and
scheduling of all trades. Paul is probably the most ethical, organized, efficient and dedicated individual I have ever worked with in the industry. I would most definitely rehire Paul if I had the need.”

Re; Recommendation
To whom it may concern;
Paul Flowers worked for Stafford Corp. from April 2007 through October 2008 as a project Superintendent. His duties included managing employees, subcontractors and suppliers in a safe and efficient manner so that projects were completed in a timely manner and on budget.
Paul was required to fill out daily progress reports, hold weekly safety meetings and produce weekly “2 week look ahead” schedules. In addition, he was required to hold pre-construction conferences with the subcontractors prior to any work being done on a project.
Paul met regularly with Owners, Architects, and Owners representatives on the jobsite. Throughout his employment with Stafford Corp. he was professional, well liked and respected by all the parties that we dealt with. It was only when work slowed down that we had to let Paul go. Otherwise, Paul would still be working for Stafford Corp today.
We found Paul dedicated to his projects and that he had the willingness to do what ever it took to get the job done on time in a safe and quality manner. He has strong computer skills and is capable of efficiently managing jobs with dozens of subcontractors. He was loyal and a team player as well as being experienced in his role as a Superintendent. He always completed the required paperwork, and worked what ever hours it took to get the job done.
I highly regard Paul and recommend him for any role that requires efficiently and competently organizing a job or project. If you have any questions, please call me.
