Bovis Lend Lease is a world leader in Project and Construction management.
Responsible for the design and construction of a LEED Platinum rated 391,000 sq ft energy trading center and office facility. This $320M mission critical project features a 720,000 sq foot parking garage, a 5 MwE Co-Generation unit and extensive use of sustainable design, including photovoltaic cells, rainwater collection and under floor air distribution throughout. The building represents the single largest commercial endeavor in BP’s history and the first LEED Platinum building in Texas. Provide oversight and coordination to A/E, general contractor and end user’s. Single point of accountability for budget, scope and schedule issues for project. Develop scopes of work, negotiate contracts, and develop risk management plans. Oversaw the implementation of the Bovis Incident and Injury Free safety program. Develop resource plans, budgets for all scopes of work, prepared and reviewed contracts, work orders and change processes in support of project. Review contractor pay applications as Owners representative and provide oversight to the onsite safety management program.

Developed detailed WBS for project, which evolved into a 175,000-activity schedule. Directed engineering, maintenance, construction and procurement activities. The project was completed in less than 57 days (an industry record) at a savings of $11 million under original budget.

Directed team of 13 project engineers and project managers charged with developing modifications to power generating facility. Acted as corporate sponsor for the justification of plant modifications. Generated budgets, performance indicators and management reports in support of groups’ activities. Prepared modification cost and technical justifications, project schedules, budget estimates and implementation impact evaluations. Developed individual goals, objectives and personal development plans for each employee. Encouraged team concept and close collaboration for project development. Led multi-disciplined engineering team in program to upgrade Instrumentation and Control system equipment for safety related systems. This program improved plant reliability and saved over $115 million in maintenance costs over the life of the plant.
