Project Superintendent – Setco Site Development Texas Division, San Antonio, Texas – 2008 / 2009 – Supervised the sitework of a commercial $30 million dollar shopping center with 60 plus employees. Ran multiple area projects at one time. Extensive employee management/training experience, including hiring and terminating of employment, conflict resolution, equipment operation instruction and administrative duties, including payroll, budgeting, safety inspections, daily crew logs, report, time management and crew coordination. Responsible for safety management and equipment inspection to insure safe use and practices. Daily management of the work in progress to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Produce written reports on inspections, submittals and site progress. Conducted the preparatory weekly construction update orientation meetings with sub-contractors. Provided daily morning meetings with foreman on scheduling future and daily activities including ordering of materials. Scheduled mechanics, haul trucks and tandems. Inspected work of sub-contractors, maintained and updated schedules. Responsibilities also included logging and tracking of change orders, permits, job costs and updating of all as-built drawings. Included
proctors, density tests and concrete test and inspection of reinforcing materials. Supervised all excavation and installation of all concrete and earth drainage, rip-raps, wing walls, u-channels, headwalls, box-culverts, inlets, gutters, concrete paving, base material, prime oil, curb, sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, asphalt and striping with traffic signage. Scheduled utility installation, surveying and building pads. Scheduled and coordinated with inspectors, engineers, owners, etc. Sold over 15 streets to the city.
Owner-self employed – Zeta Construction, San Antonio, Texas – 2006 / 2008 – Had 2 eight man crew subcontractors working for me doing different types of curb molds doing curb work for parking lots, subdivisions, state and city work. Had contracts for turn-key projects estimating from $5,000.00 to $100,000 dollars.
Project Superintendent – John Stuart Sitework, San Antonio, Texas – 1997 / 2006 – Same as above for Setco Site Development. Supervised million dollar plus projects and ran from 5 to 10 multiple jobs at once estimating 40 to 50 employees at one time. Conducted inventories of materials, anticipated needs and requirements and continually coordinated with the project manager for uninterrupted flow of materials to maintain the work schedule. Acted to implement and enforce safety measures and report all safety violations. Responsible for weekly production reports, time cards and other records to
turn in to the office. Maintained a good operating relationship with other employees, material suppliers, clients, and the general public. Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading. Managed all phases of sitework development from raw land to selling off project, working with contractors, engineers, inspectors, owners, etc. to make sure all phases are completed in compliance with schedules and cost estimates, Read and understand blueprints and specifications, job and project scheduling, supervised numerous sub-contractors and trained employees.
Management of day-to-day operations to include construction project, grading/sitework, and utilities. Supervised multiple foreman, as well as consulted with owners of projects, Maintained scheduling, cost contro;, quality control, and safety. Figured quantities/yields, and oversaw employees time for payroll.
