Responsible for all Carpenter and Mechanic duties on a 500 acre estate. This includes minor and major repairs to buildings and homes, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, landscape maintenance, constructing new buildings, maintaining fences, and the maintenance of equipment. Some of the equipment maintained and operated are; tractors, backhoes, trucks, jeeps, small engines and large mowers. Feed and care for horses when required.
Dean’s Honey-Do Service, Inc. – Owner – Gloucester, VA 23061 1996 to Sept. 2007
Owns and manages a company that accomplishes all phases of home and office remodeling, builds custom homes, pole barns, sheds, decks, sun rooms and screened porches. Have built multiple commercial self-storage units as well as general purpose steel buildings. Virginia Class ‘A’ Contractor, specializing in building custom homes. Prime contractor for local State Farm agency repairing damage to homes and businesses. Manages up to three crews, depending on the work load. Performs material take offs, procures all materials required, and hires and schedules sub-contractors.
Alexander-Otto, LLC - Superintendent – Grand Junction, CO August 2006 to Mar 2007
Supervised retail fixture installation and construction crews for Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and JC Penny stores. Planed work schedule, trained personnel in proper installation technigues, monitored sub-contractors for compliance with standards, was responsible for maintaining quality in all aspects within the scope of work. Completed all reports and paperwork required with each job. Maintained tool inventory and ensured all crews had the required tools and materials to accomplish the work. Provided solutions for all problems/situations encountered in installations and remodels. Performed material takeoffs as required.
United States Air Force 1976 to 1996
DIRECTOR, WING INITIAL COMMUNICATIONS PACKAGE (WICP) - Managed a mobile communications team, consisting of 13 individuals in diversified skill positions, and $2.5M of equipment and $500K of spares, for worldwide contingency operations. Ensured crated and boxed communications equipment was ready for air shipment to any location in the world. Accountable to Regional Executive Officer for installation, maintenance, and operation of initial communications equipment to include, radios, computers, switchboards, and telephones. Additionally, responsible for vehicle maintenance, team integrity and security of both personnel and equipment. Team rated as the #1 team in the Air Force for 1994. Designed, contracted for manufacturing, and purchased custom shipping containers for equipment. Containers were benchmarked for use by all other agencies.
CHIEF, SMALL COMPUTER MAINTENANCE - Supervised 30 personnel responsible for maintaining over 5000 desktop computers. Controlled all purchasing and inventory of repair parts and upgrade items. Planned and budgeted for time replacement components, prioritized maintenance, and installed software.
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, TRANSPORTABLE SHELTER SYSTEM - Assisted with the planning for daily maintenance of the Transportable Computer system and Distributive Communications Processor-Model 40 (DCP-40) and associated data processing terminals. Required to maintain tactical vehicles in a mobile environment. Assigned to Desert Storm as Lead Technician for installing and maintaining the DCP-40 and over 50 terminals and peripherals that supported the maintenance and operations of the flying operations at Diego Garcia.
COMPUTER MAINTENANCE WORKCENTER MANAGER - Supervised 12 technicians that maintained over 1500 small computers for Travis AFB. Set maintenance standards, purchased repair parts, scheduled maintenance for continuous use systems, planned and scheduled replacement of computers.
DIRECTOR, MAINTENANCE CONTROL - Directed and controlled all maintenance actions for 13 local workcenters and 14 remote sites that provided Telecommunications for all of Italy. Provided emergency notifications to all locations and coordinated all responses.
