Experience:
You will note that I have worked with several companies several times. I have been on
many turn arounds, shut downs and long term assignments but almost all end with
a lay off. I have worked union and non-union. In my 25 year career I have worked in 21 states and will travel almost anywhere if the pay/package is good. I worked regular with Metric (energy division of J.A. Jones) in the 1980’s and early 1990’s for about 8 years before it was dissolved.
I have also worked union and non-union, power plants (fossil, gas and nuclear), paper mills, waste water treatment, bio-chemical, car (BMW) and substation jobs. I worked in the field many years and worked up to the position of a general foreman before taking a safety position. I believe this gives me the advantage over most safety professionals because most of the time the workers seem to respect and listen to me more as well as follow my instruction.
Some of my duties included: attending regular client and contractor safety meetings; reviewing client and contractor compliance with site Safety Plans and performance; preparing written monthly and quarterly Safety reports; briefing papers about all meetings attended; site inspection observations related to construction safety, site orientations (in English and Spanish).
In the past I have been a LOTO manager on startup as well as trained workers on PPE, man lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, confined space, fall protection, ect.
In the past I have passed a certified structural welder test, hydraulic crane up to 60 tons, boom truck. I also possess a current CDL.
