This is a contractor position with the U.S. State Department. This position involves monitoring all foreign workers and work taking place within a U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas. Surveillance Technicians monitor installations and construction, read and understand blue prints, mechanical systems, electrical systems, civil construction and interior finishes. The focus of this work was to prevent unauthorized materials and illegal items from entering the active construction site. CST would have to monitor 1-30 workers and perform checks of all materials and equipment entering the control areas, examination and use of x-ray equipment, random searches and selection of equipment. CST is trained on reading and understanding blue prints, project drawings and instructions on construction work taking place within controlled areas of consulates and embassies overseas. These projects would be valued at 1-50 million U.S. dollars.
