I am writing to submit my resume for you to review with hopes that you may see some aspect that you would consider beneficial to your company. I believe my education and experience would make me an excellent fit for a project manager position with Granger Construction Company.
Hello, my name is Chris Lawrence. Recently, I decided to go back to school to get my degree in construction management. After working in the construction industry as a project field supervisor for a foundation contractor for twelve years I feel it is time for me to further my career and move into the management side of things. I have gained much knowledge and experience working in the field and want to apply that to being a project manager. My hard work ethic and proven track record of on time and under budget performance will help me a great deal being in a management position.
During my time working in the field I believe I have gained valuable work experience that would make me a good project manager. I have learned to schedule tasks related to the project and also limiting material and labor to control costs. While earning my degree I have become familiar with different scheduling software such as Microsoft Office Project and SureTrack from Primavera and Timberline. I am also proficient with AutoCAD. Other skills include better communication with every level of personnel in the construction process.
I know that the construction industry is not one that you can just walk into without the proper experience which must come from being on the job. That is why I feel with my twelve years of experience of being in the field will help me to make proper and effective decisions as a project manager. With the right guidance I could be a great addition to the team.
Sincerely,
Chris Lawrence
