Project is contract assignment on various sites performing construction of pump stations and pipeline for Marathon Oil. Daily duties include audits of field work to identify hazards and to work with supervision to correct the hazard in a timely manner. Other duties include permit writing, air monitoring, and job hazard analysis to help employees to recognize hazards.

Project is contract assignment at Thomas Hill Power Plant shutdown and construction of No.3 unit. Work included demolition of the unit two switch gears and replacement. Duties were to lead safety talks emphasizing correct safety procedures and to make daily walkabouts noting deficiencies in work habits and housekeeping. These deficiencies would be resolved with the field supervision. LOTO log was kept and verified each day.

Project is construction of Iatan Power Plant units for KCPL in Kansas, City. Duties on this project included field safety presence to detect safety issues to be corrected, lead safety talks for different crafts and take suggestions from craft for improvement of areas. KCPL was OCIP controlled worksite.

Project was contract Site Safety Supervisor for the Tres Palacios Project in Bay City
Texas. This was a 300 person $50 Million project constructing pump station, and pipelines for salt dome natural gas storage. Project ran 200,000 Man hours with no recordable injuries. Duties included first aid and workers comp coordination.

Project was contract Safety Manager for the coordination of 12 contractor companies for communication and cooperation building $6 million training facility for Ford Motor Company. After facility construction, invited to be Third Party Safety for Chicago Ford Assembly Plant. Observe contractor safety on demolition of existing line and construction turnaround. Help to coordinate contractor’s safety functions and enforce Ford safety rules.

Project was contract Site Safety Supervisor to build gas line pump station in Moab, Utah, replace turbine pump and install gas lines. Observed employees for safe work practices and led safety talks. No injuries were recorded on this project.

Safety Site Manager-February 2005 – Jan 2007
Company had maintenance contract at the ExxonMobil plant at the Joliet, Illinois plant. (STAR VPP) My safety duties are to support approximately 80 employees and liaison with ExxonMobil Safety Buddy. The crew has had no recordable injuries for the last 196,783 man-hours. Contractors at this site have surpassed three million man-hours without a lost time accident. STARCON personnel have surpassed one year without recordable accident.
Worked as a direct hire Valero Aruba for the safety department, meeting with the safety manager on a daily basis to coordinate all contractors involved in a plant turn-around. Worked this job three months and returned to Starcon.
LOS ANGELES HARBOR DEEPENING PROJECT
Safety Director –November 2002-January 2005
Director for large co-operative group of constructors including Connolly-Pacific Co., Manson Construction, Great Lakes, Penhall, and Reyes Construction.
Job is a $400 million CCIP project involving demolition of existing concrete piers, dredging of the harbor channel, and movement of 6,600,000 cubic yards of dirt and rock involving land earth moving equipment and water borne equipment, and placement of some 8.25 million tons of rock. This was moved from an open pit rock quarry.
Duties include coordination of all the different safety programs of all the companies involved, record keeping of the group effort to reduce injuries, compilation of safety statistics for OSHA and Corps of Engineers, investigation of accidents, job hazard audits, and reporting to senior committee for job progress and safety.
ONSITE SAFETY AND ENVIROMENTAL SERVICES CONTRACTING
Safety Inspector – January 3, 2002—November 2002
BRINDERSON CONSTRUCTION, EL SEGUNDO, CA
Project was contract position involving demolition of existing MTBE fuel lines and installation of new lines. This CHEVRON refinery is one of the largest in the country. Responsibilities include daily interactions with foremen and superintendents to suggest better safety performance within crew, weekly leadership committee meetings with Chevron safety department to implement rules and ideas from contractors throughout the plant to make a safer working environment. Daily audits for this company and weekly audits for other contractors were part of contract. Demo responsibilities consisted of assured grounding and LOTO for tie-ins.
ALSTOM POWER, DALLAS, TX, BAKERSFIELD, CA
Project was contract safety inspector for Alstom Power, which built the plant and is now doing outages for all six units. LOTO and field presence were main duties. Other duties include Confine Space permitting and Lock Out Tag Out for four subcontractors and oversight of safety program for project.
DEARBORN MID-WEST CONVEYER SYSTEMS, KANSAS CITY, KS

Project was contract position to install conveyer system for US Postal Service in Bell, CA. Documented assured grounding system, ladder inspection, sling inspection, crane, forklift, man lift inspections. General safety audits and weekly safety information talks were done daily.
CHERNE CONTRACTING, EDEN PRAIRIE, MN May 1999- April 2001
ARCO POLYPROPYLENE, LONG BEACH, CA.
Safety Manager for 800 persons on a $230 million-dollar project to coordinate confined spaces, hot work permitting, safety talks, general walk around safety, safety committee chairman, orientation backup instructor which was a six hour course, and supplying monthly report to home office. On this project I supervised two safety supervisors, a trainer, a medic, and a secretary.
BRITISH PETROLEUM BDU PLANT, LIMA OH
Duties were all aspects of safety and medic as night safety manager on this $220 million dollar project.
EMPIRE ELECTRIC JOPLIN, MO.
Safety supervisor for 400 employees building a gas plus steam electric power facility. Duties included four hours orientation, back up first aid, and general safety audits.
We surpassed three million man-hours without a lost time or OSHA record able for these projects.
GLOBAL INDUSTRIES – WEST AFRICA

Cheyenne and Comanche Derrick Lay Barges. Laying gas pipelines and decks with
hook-ups. Barges are self-contained cities of 300 people. Responsibilities included weekly safety talks, hot work permits on gas and oil platforms, first aid, helicopter landing and fire response, food inspection and cooking hygiene, marine safety equipment audits.

In 1991 I served as the safety inspector for eighty miles of 30-inch pipeline rehab for Tenneco Gas Pipeline. During the assignment in 1992, in addition to my role in safety, I also was an office manager at the site. The duties included purchasing and payroll. During the 1998 assignment we laid 12†new line for Kocke. Responsibilities included first aid and safety for approximately 150 people. Safety included weekly safety talks, excavation, and general safety.

I worked as Medic/Safety on DB-1, which houses approximately 300 people. Primary duty was Medic and Safety surveys, which included weekly safety talks. On the medical side I did stitches and handled a heart attack, typhoid, chicken pox, seizure, blood poison, and malaria.

This company does pipelining, pile driving, dredging and long shoring, employing some one hundred people. Berry Brothers also did turn around and construction in refinery plants for Texaco and Shell Oil. I was responsible for supervising a comprehensive safety program to minimize accidents, insure OSHA compliance and Petroleum Company’s acceptance of Berry Brothers a contractor. One of my principal duties was to develop safety consciousness through training. I trained the employees in confined space, lockout, hazard communication, hydrogen sulfide, Norm reclamation, first aid/CPR, respirators, and Petroleum Education Counsel orientation. I also visited job sites to audit for compliance with established safety practices.

Demolition of TVA #2 boiler heating elements at Memphis Electric Plant. My responsibilities included first aid, keeping workers compensation records, and OSHA record keeping. I gave weekly safety talks, conferred with line supervisors to make job safety analysis on particularly hazardous procedures, and inspected site for compliance with company policies and OSHA laws.
SERVICE MARINE INDUSTIRES, MORGAN CITY, LA
SAFETY DIRECTOR, 1981-1990
I served as the safety director for this marine repair and Construction Company. This company operated three dry-docks, a machine shop, two fabrication shops and about ten acres of land for the construction of offshore oil decks and jackets. Employment varied between one hundred and fifty to eight hundred people. I developed and managed a safety program, which was designed to produce safety awareness and produce safe work practices among employees. We reduced the OSHA incident rate from 28 to 4 and as a result the company was able to go self-insured. I managed five different OSHA inspections and the subsequent informal conferences.
