Building upon my years of experience I currently direct all aspects of Civil Engineering and Planning for Land development and infrastructure projects. Duties include Proposal writing, contract execution, planning, zoning, design, estimating, permitting, contract administration and project close out as well as all duties involved in running a start up business.

General/Project Manager 2000 – 2008
Directed all aspects of client and team development to achieve company goals for the future success of the company. Maintained quality control of the site and infrastructure engineering product. Managed as many as 12 Engineers, Surveyors and Technicians. Began the Transportation Department to allow for diversification within the company. Stayed intimately involved in the activities associated with the Project Manager/Engineer role described below.

Project Manager/Engineer 1990 – 2000
Led design teams in the planning, design, contract document development and permitting of land development and infrastructure projects. Worked directly with clients to ensure project requirements and vision were met. Reduced project costs by aggressively seeking alternative ways to achieve objectives by use of value engineering techniques.
• Developed and refined land plans for rezoning applications and to allow for better utilization of the land being developed. This allowed clients to realize development cost savings while providing the most functional development possible.
• Prepared roadway and utility design for numerous residential, commercial and multi-use developments.
• Conducted hydrological and hydraulic analysis for report preparation required by governmental agencies in the areas of Detention, Flood plain determination, FEMA map revisions, Water quality, Storm drainage systems, Sewerage systems, Potable water supply.
• Calculated Pumping station requirements for both public and private clients. As part of municipal team, developed numerous pump station and force main contract documents.
• Developed water distribution and wastewater collection system models to determine adequacy of existing municipal systems and proposed upgrades to these systems to allow for new or future development.
• Prepared and overseen preparation of construction contract documents for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments ranging in size from one acre to over a thousand acres.
• Overseen implementation and development of AutoCAD standards for use within the company.
Designer/Drafter 1986 – 1990
Assisted in the civil design of residential, commercial and mixed-use Land development and infrastructure projects. These projects include public and private development.
• Designed and drafted hundreds of miles of roadways to the standards of city, county and state governments
• Designed and drafted construction plans for commercial and residential projects. Designs included grading plans, roadways, water, sewer and all other associated infrastructure.
• Performed quantity takeoffs for all types of land development projects using both manual and computerized techniques. Takeoffs included earthwork, materials and personnel.
• Key team member responsible for the transition from manual drafting to AutoCAD.
Surveying Crewman 1984 – 1986
Served as Instrument man, Rodman and Chainman during this time. Reduced field data for use by office personnel. Conducted surveying assignments for all types of land development projects including roadway, right-of-way, utilities and structures. Involved in all surveying activities associated with Land development and infrastructure.

PUBLIC PROJECTS
I have directed, designed, drafted, surveyed, permitted and administered numerous projects and associated infrastructure for public projects. Engineering within these projects included utility coordination, stormwater systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection and re-use systems and roadway design and administration. Some of these projects are:
• U.S. Hwy 41 and Cedarcrest Road Intersection and Roadway, Cobb and Paulding Counties, Georgia.
Managed and coordinated with State and County the permitting and construction of 1 mile of roadway and intersection upgrades from a two lane local to a 4 lane collector roadway.
Included plan development, Quantity Takeoffs and Contract Administration.
• 6 mile Rural road (Yukon Road) upgrade in Gilmer County, Georgia
Intersection design, Pavement Design, Driveway improvements and all associated requirements involved in road upgrade to AASHTO and Georgia D.O.T. standards.
Included plan development, Quantity takeoffs, RFP administration, Bid opening and Contract Administration.
• Cedarcrest Road, Paulding County, Georgia
3.2 million dollar roadway upgrade project from a 2 lane rural section to a 4 lane divide highway along an existing commercial corridor.
Intersection design, Pavement Design, Driveway improvements and all associated requirements involved in road upgrade to AASHTO and Georgia D.O.T. standards.
PRIVATE PROJECTS
I have directed, designed, drafted, surveyed, permitted and administered numerous projects and associated infrastructure for public projects. Engineering within these projects included utility coordination, stormwater systems, water distribution systems, wastewater collection and re-use systems and roadway design and administration. Some of these projects are:
• Brookstone Golf & Country Club - Cobb County, Georgia
Project included 3 planned developments with single family residential, golf course, office and commercial property. The development included more than 50 individual phases containing 2,300 lots and covering 1,500 acres. Design included road design for several miles of subdivision roads, State and County road improvements, drainage and hydrology studies, full utility design, erosion control and wetlands coordination.
Represented client to county zoning department for all land plan revisions and amendments.
Design and layout of all sewer collection systems and temporary sewage treatment and land application system.
• Governors Towne Club - Cobb & Paulding Counties, Georgia
Project involved the layout, design and development of 517 single family lots, 18-hole golf course, office and commercial properties located on 721 acres. Design occurred over 20 phases and included road design for 8 to 10 miles of road, county road improvements, drainage and hydrology studies, environmental coordination (including 404 permitting), full utility design and erosion control.
Represented client to county zoning department for all land plan revisions and amendments.
Design and layout of all sewer collection system, water distribution system and water re-use system.
Layout and design of approximately 8,000 linear feet of 8”, 12” and 15” of regional sewer line to enable construction of this development and the future build out of the contributing basin.
Layout and design of pumping station and approximately 8,000 linear feet of force main as well as redesign of the headworks of the Pumpkinvine creek WWTP in Paulding County
• Due West Pavilion – Cobb County, Georgia
Directed the Layout, design, permitting and construction of an approximately 20 acre commercial development. The site is comprised of over 15 individual retail shops.
Designed all on-site water systems, sewer systems and offsite sewer systems.
Prepared hydrology and water quality studies.
