Government Center Project, Reviewed the quality of workmanship performed by three General Contractors operating in the region for the architect and the Trinidad & Tobago Government entity (UDECOTT). The project was approximately 1.6 million sq. ft. complex that included a 10-story Customs & Excise Tax Building, a 22-story Revenue and Budget Tower, a 22-story Consumer and Legal Affairs Tower; a nine story Ministry of Education Building; and a six story Car Park housing a central plant to service the entire complex and two stories of retail. Assisted in managing 25 quality control engineers, technicians, and office administration in daily operations. The team reviewed shop drawings for compliance to the specifications, the contract documents and the architect's overall intent. Also reviewed
and responded to request for information (RFI) submitted by contractors. Developed the track logs and reports to mitigate delay claims by utilizing Prolog, Microsoft Project and Excel, facilitated weekly RFI review meetings for the contractor and the architect to work out critical RFIs and other issues such as outstanding or critical submitted shop drawings. Also, assisted in the development a standardization of monthly reports that was submitted to the owner and architect. Engineer New York Business Unit
Bellevue Hospital, As an engineer at Bellevue Hospital modernization and infra-structure my responsibilities were reviewing, organizing, tracking and disseminating construction-related information to staff, architects/engineers and contractors for , a new four-story ambulatory care wing, the renovation of three floors that houses a ICU, Recovery and Endoscopy suites and the modernization of the infra-structure. Reviewed shop drawings for compliance to the specifications, the contract documents and the architect's overall intent was the primary objective, prepared cost impact analysis on design changes by complying supporting data through RS Means and union rate sheet for DASNY, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, the construction manager. In addition, developed and maintained the schedule for the build-out of the 150 seat Dr. Saul J. Farber Auditorium by utilizing Microsoft Project and Project. Monitored the progress and quality of the HVAC contractor and performed the duties of an assistant superintendent. As an assistant superintendent, scheduled shut down of medical gases to ties into the hospital’s existing systems and coordinated with the other trades impacted by the HVAC contractor’s scope. Additional duties were to monitor the abatement and or encapsulation of existing pipes that were insulated in asbestos.
MSG Training Facility, This project included a NHL skating rink and two professional basketball courts as well as training rooms for the local three professional sport franchises owned by Madison Square Garden. As one of two engineers, my role was to anticipate conflicts with the structural steel and other trades by utilizing AutoCAD. Tracked the progress of shop drawings by generating reports from data input into Prolog, monitored the work in place, and updated the schedule in Microsoft Project. Also, facilitated several visits for the design team to the fabrication shops to assure quality from fabrication to installation of the Structural Steel, Insulated Panels, and HVAC and ice rink equipment plant.
World Trade Center & Recovery Team, As part of a closeout team comprised of 15 engineers whose responsibilities included reconciling and negotiating settlements for subcontractors’ claim by reviewing RSMeans & Costworks, historical daily construction reports, union rate sheets and work orders. Also, participated in the recovery efforts after the 9/11 tragedy and the subsequent closeout. As a member of the recovery efforts team, assisting in the developing and maintain manifest logs in Excel for all trucks leaving the Building 7 site.
