Construction Superintendent for a 992 unit renovation for Navy housing at Murphy Canyon in San Diego, Ca.
Assisted the Senior Project Executive in writing complete scope sheets, sending out bid packages, going through bids and recommending the right subs for each trade.
Also helped on another 76 unit renovation for Navy housing at Admiral Hartman in Pacific Beach got project off the ground and was to be the Superintendent in charge of the end part at the 992 unit project
10/00-06/03: Project Superintendent-Harper Construction
Completed a 5 million dollar project for Mitchell International (10/00-6/01)
From 6/01 to 6/03- Project Superintendent for an 11 million dollar-TOTAL renovation (complete gut out of roofs, interior walls, new under ground waste, new electrical, plumbing, gas lines, fire sprinklers, fire life safety, HVAC etc) of 115 housing units. When I completed this project I became the 2nd Superintendent on a 45 new ground up housing unit project.
After this project I became the acting Safety Officer for the new $10mil+ Air Traffic Control Tower at the U.S. Marine Corps Air Base in Yuma
11/99-6/00: Senior Construction Manager-JM Consulting Group
Sent out to bid, got all proposals in made final budget and schedule for a 33,000 sq. ft. switch facility for Nextel. Project included 3 switch rooms, each consisting of its own DC power room, spare part room and a single control room, office space, lunch room and 4 rest rooms. It also included 3 generators (750 kW each switch room and a 10,000-gallon fuel tank
7/95-11/99: Project Manager/Superintendent- Shimizu America Corporation
Completed well over 300,000 sq. ft. of “very high end tenant improvement†at One America Plaza a 34 story “world class†high rise office building. My projects ran from 25k to 2mil with a wide variety of tenants.
I planed, directed and oversaw projects from inception to occupancy. Monitored/controlled construction through administrative direction of on site Superintendent/s.

In charge of all trade shops, carpenter, paint, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, welding, mechanical, auto and lock shop (approx. 100+ personnel)
Ensured that appropriate trades responded to appropriate situations, provided campus services on new capitol projects and maintenance to all campus buildings as required
Developed work procedures, health and safety programs, implemented various new programs, counseled employees etc.

1985-12/93: Construction Superintendent for Harper Construction, San Diego
Supervised and scheduled contractors from all trades in the building and /or renovations of: Retail stores, Restaurants, Commercial Buildings (office build out) to include multi floor buildings short to high rise
Industrial/manufacturing companies to include combinations of warehouse, shipping and receiving with own corporate offices
Medical facilities to include Pulmonary and Oncology Laboratories, Dental offices and a Critical Care Unit. All medical projects for the exception of the dental offices where built at U.C.S.D. Medical Center in San Diego, Ca.
1980-1985: Facility Supervisor for Elgar Corporation, San Diego, Ca.
Organized the Company’s Maintenance Department and developed several Preventative Maintenance Programs. Instrumental in the planning of Elgar’s new facility (budget of $12 million and 200,000 sq. ft.) Key figure in the logistics of re-locating 400 employees to include all machinery and equipment from seven buildings into new facility

MEDICAL EXPERIENCE
Demolition of Approx. 10,000 sq. ft. of basement area in order to build a new Pulmonary Research Laboratory
Work included special HVAC and electrical requirements, walls, ceilings and doors, had special lead lining to prevent any radiation leakage from escaping to the outside.
Addition of 6,000 sq. ft. to an existing Oncology Laboratory which required very special scheduling and coordination as to not disturb ongoing research
Demolition of approx. 14,000 sq. ft. of the 10th floor and COMPLETE build out of a new Critical Care Unit at a cost of $10 million
Critical Care Unit was built as to have its own HVAC and electrical equipment so as to be totally independent from the rest of the hospital it also included two full nurse stations one equipment and two storage rooms and a lunch room
Project required EXTENSIVE coordination with all contractors, hospital staff, engineers and states inspectors.
It was completed on schedule and within budget and passed all required tests by the State of California Department of Health and certified on first attempt.
