ï¶ $4.5 billion of successfully completed projects in the absence of litigation
As VP of the 160 person Engineering and Construction, I grew the Construction Group from 6 to 43 Construction Managers, Administrators and Inspectors. As Construction Site Manager, I managed the company’s labor force, subcontractors and vendors to build a wastewater treatment plant and a “design/build†steel mill.
As Director of Construction, I was responsible for the management and success of the SFWMD Construction Division. Developed work unit from a $5 million to a $140 million. Completed over 60 CIP and Everglades projects included two 3,200 cfs pump stations and an 18,000 acre water treatment impoundment.
As Program Director, I am responsible for a $550 million construction program. I supervised a staff of 26 managers, engineers, architects, planning, procurement, construction, controls and support personnel. As Director of Construction, I supervised a staff of construction managers and inspectors on large water resource projects.
As Director of Program Management, I opened 45 schools in four years, all on time and within budget. The school construction program had a high public profile, complicated procedures and was intensely political. The 5-year budget was $2.5 billion.
Project experience includes institutional, governmental and educational facilities, offices, an emergency operations center, roadways, bridges, water treatment plants, water storage and distribution systems, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and collection systems, utilities, large water resource projects, dams, water impoundments, hazardous waste and ground water remediation, landfills, air pollution control facilities and land development.
I feel confident that my wealth of successful experiences, consensus style of management and devotion to task would certainly be a benefit your organization.
Sincerely,
Tom Johns
