Thank you, for taking the time to review my resume. As you know resumes only tell part of the story and I would like to take this opportunity to explain my personal work ethics. Anyone in my profession is expected to maintain budget and schedule. This alone is not enough for me, an employer for a substantial project should expect to be under budget and lets face it, schedule should always be thought of as worse case and should always be improved. If you are thinking a well managed project should exceed expectations please contact me.
Please allow me to add some information that will communicate my dedication to my craft and my abilities that may add to the information in my resume.
• A willingness to complete any task necessary to move the job forward. I do not consider any work beneath me.
• A solid understanding of all aspects of construction from preconstruction through punch list to final opening.
• An amazing ability to quickly build a team from ownership, Architect, Designers, Structural Engineer and Subcontractors always resulting in increased success on any project.
• Always staying ahead on drawing packages for collaborating with all parties to avoid those pitfalls that so often cost time and money.
• Skilled in building lasting relationships.
• Excellent skills in building, guiding, motivating, training and mentoring a staff having extensive experience in team building.
I know I can add significant value to your team as you can see from both my experience and strong ethical commitment to my craft. I look forward to a more detailed discussion of my capabilities and sharing my extensive list of references with you. I am available for a personal interview with you at your convenience. I know you are busy so once again I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my resume.
Sincerely
David Doherty

OBJECTIVES:
To seek a position as a construction Project Manager or Sr. Project Engineer and provide my skills in the fields of Project Management and Value Engineering including building close working relationships with Architects, Designers and Sub-Contractors to maintain and improve both project schedule and project budget.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Turnberry West Const. â— Las Vegas, Nevada
Project Manager, Constructing the Fontainebleau Resort Scope. This is a fast track project in which construction was started before design was complete. My scope of work included all Structural work. The Caissons and Foundations were completed 8 days ahead of schedule. The Structural Steel erection completed only 3 weeks past the original schedule date even though the overall tonnage went from 28,000 tons to 41,000 tons due to design changes. I managed Exterior and signage for Podium coordinating a complex system of EFIS, Glass curtain wall and Video Board by bringing together both the Architect and Subcontractors in a close working relationship. I managed a Cell-Crete/ TPO Roofing system for Podium, through value engineering I saved 12% on this system. One of my biggest challenges was management of the Elevated Pool/ Rec. Deck including 8 vessels and 9 venues. Ownership Hired a new Designer 1 year into construction, all finishes changed and the pools changed from Gunite to Stainless Steel and the 9 venues were completely redesigned. I began this with a $96 million budget and I was able to reduce this to $73.5 million while still maintain design intent. Having started this project during per-construction, I built and managed my own staff of 5 and bid and bought out 17 subcontracts. • Scope Value: $465,000,000.00 • EMPLOYED: October 2006 to May 2009.

I did all my own design, sales and engineering using specialized software. • ANNAL REVENUE: $325,000 • EMPLOYED: July 2000 to Oc-tober 2006.
MGM Plastics â— San Marcos, California
Plastic Fabrication • ANNUAL SALES: $1.2 million • POSITION: Department Manager • I started working for MGM part time as there was not enough work in this department for full time employment (annual sale approx, $45,000). The Fabrication department was entirely placed in my hands and after 4 years I developed it into the most profitable department in the company allowing the owners to buy a large manufacturing plant. DUTIES: Design & Engineering and Fabrication • Supervisor over staff of 8 • EMPLOYED: April 1993 to July 2000.
Doherty Construction â— Escondido, California
General Contractor - Home Builder • ANNUAL SALES: $250,000 • POSITION: Owner, General Contractor, Designer, & Builder.
