Senior Estimator
Tribble & Stephens Construction is a $50M to $100M Commercial General Contractor. Projects are 20% hard bid and 80% negotiated. Responsibilities range from subcontractor solicitation to bid day proposals. Perform complete estimates on both negotiated and hard bid proposals with the use of Excel spreadsheet, On Screen Takeoff and historical cost data. Prepare bid day subcontractor bid analysis sheet for every trade of work. Analyze subcontractor’s bids, adjust accordingly and prepare GC’s bid day proposal.
Broaddus & Associates / PM2i, Austin, Texas (August 2005 – December 2008)
Chief Estimator for both firms
Broaddus & Associates is a $100M plus Project Management and Planning Firm. PM2i is a $25M plus CM/GC Firm. Responsibilities included detail estimates, with the use of Timberline estimating system and R.S. Means cost database, throughout different stages of design. Assisted Owners and Architects in setting a budget for projects. Coordinated with the Architect to prevent any potential increase in scope of work and/or upgraded design. After CM/GC selection, worked with and reviewed CM/GC’s estimates.
Middleman Construction Co., San Antonio, Texas (November 2001 – July 2005)
Part Time Estimator
Middleman Construction is a $10M to $15M Commercial General Contractor whose work includes 90% negotiated and 10% hard bid work. Created an estimating department for the Company while working remotely from Austin. Creation of the estimating function allowed the Owner to double the company revenues.

Senior Estimator
Austin Commercial is a $100M plus General Contracting, Construction Management and Design Build Firm that self-performs concrete and rough carpentry. Acted as lead estimator on two negotiated projects; the Four Seasons Condominium and 300 West Sixth Street Office Tower. Responsibilities included complete estimates with concrete and rough carpentry being a detailed estimate.
Hensel Phelps Construction Co., Austin, Texas (August 1997 – March 1998)
Pre-Construction Estimator
Hensel Phelps is a $100M plus Full Service Contracting Firm that self-performs concrete, some masonry and rough carpentry. Acted as the Pre-Construction Estimator on a design build new residence hall at the University of Texas. Worked with University personnel on budgeting for the project using MC2 based on subcontractor input and historical data. Met with Architect and reviewed documents to minimize design upgrades or scope increases. Produced estimates at different stages of design, and developed pricing value engineering and GMP.
Hardin Construction Group, Atlanta, Georgia (January 1995 – August 1997)
Estimator
Hardin Construction is a $100M plus Full Service Contracting Firm and my first experience working for a large construction company. Responsibilities increased from support estimator to overseeing estimates for site work and structural components of the project. Work included the Citicorp Campus Development in Tampa, Florida and the Atlanta Hawks Arena at schematic design joint ventured with Turner Construction.
