Selected Accomplishments
WMATA – Glenmont Tunnel. As project superintendent, led a team of 11 company foremen, 100 direct-hire tradesmen, and eight subcontractors in construction by cut-and-cover method of a subway tunnel crossover, airshaft, and electric substation. Served as contractor’s quality control representative and safety representative.
Pentagon Basement Renovation – Phase I. Managed a team of 39 company foremen, over 400 direct-hire tradesmen, and 40 subcontractors through construction of two additional floors below the existing building. Project was completed on schedule and at over twice the as-bid profit on a lump-sum $140M contract for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Dulles Airport Package 7 & 8 Headed field operations on a baggage handling system expansion which required construction of large below-grade structures on three different sites, all on the airfield. The project was executed allowing full continuous operation of one of the nation’s busiest airports.
Johns Hopkins Hospital South of Orleans Expansion As senior superintendent, led the field construction team of a 1.1 million SF structure requiring 180,000 CY of mass excavation and 39,000 CY of self-performed concrete produced with an on-site batch plant. The fit-out work included a high-voltage power station and chiller plant for surrounding buildings on this downtown Baltimore City campus.
BWI Airport Parking Garage Expansion As project superintendent, managed field operations on a 2,900 space post-tensioned parking garage. The work required adding two floors on top of the existing garage and building an eight-story addition. The garage and adjacent terminals remained fully operational during the life of the project.
