OBJECTIVE:

My achievements that has help me progress in the trade of Pipefitting is: Blueprint Reading School 1&2[at] Newport News Shipbuilding & D.D. Co. Newport News, Va., Pipe Bending Certified ( sizes ¼’’OD to 6’’ pipe, Instrumentation, ABS & Navy bidding, Junior Coordinator.

Position: Journeyman Pipe fitter & Pipe fitter Supervisor
Duties: Install piping systems on Navy ships as per blueprints. Fabricate spools to install onboard vessel. As supervisor, I oversee progress; verify assurance of quality; and ensure that jobs were perform according to safety procedures.

Position: Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor
Duties: Repaired machinery, maintenance on different type of equipment, blinding of tanks for entry and cleaning. Repair and fabricate piping systems that are damaged.

Duties: Performing the duties of pipefitting and structure fabricator. Ripping out old piping systems, pumps, motors, foundations and pipe supports as per blueprints. Install new ship alteration according to Coast Guard Specification.

Duties: Supervised fitters and helpers engaged in the installation, replacement, maintenance and repair of Navy, Coast Guard, and Commercial vessels. Provided appropriate training; teaching helpers how to read blueprints and basic pipe fitting skills. Order material, managed inventory control of all supplies and disperse for all pope shop jobs. Maintain personnel’s time sheets to be submitted to payroll. Duties: Assist Supervisor with coordinating the activities for workers engaged in different jobs such as rip - out of existing piping systems that are deteriorated. Target piping in a jig, fabricate same as existing. Removing interference or other trades, oversee progress; verify assurance of quality; and assure workers are following safety precautions and rules. Plan installations to avoid delays and interruption of other trades. Inspect work area to make sure its safe for hot work; personnel entry into different spaces. Periodically monitor workers to teach, train and perform pipefitting duties, making sure each essential job is satisfactory and done properly in a productive time frame. Great customer service skills, as well as demonstrating hands - on - aptitude. I under completely how to do any minor or major job when it pertains to pipefitting.
