Dreu Beers is the owner and president. He works closely with owners and other contractors to properly coordinate all construction trades, reviews all aspects of the electrical and mechanical systems, and implements commissioning standards for acceptance protocols on major construction projects. Mr. Beers provides consulting services to surety companies, construction companies, general contractors, and financial institutions for completion of project construction and claims, also providing value engineering and cost controls. Mr. Beers oversees project schedules and job progress. He manages, produces, submits and negotiates contracts and change orders for the protection of the client. He oversees construction managers and documents all aspects of completion. Mr. Beers performs construction management, construction audits, and quality assurance inspections, bank audits for construction loan draws, changer order preparation and negotiation.
Educational Background
Mr. Beers received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, with emphasis on mechanical and electrical engineering. His minor was in nuclear engineering and power generation.
Professional Experience
Mr. Beers has over 15 years experience in the construction industry from electrical, mechanical and practical stand points which makes him capable of completions without issues which protects the client from miscellaneous problems.
Mr. Beers is presently working with St John’s University as an in house consultant helping with the implementation of a 5 year $300 million master plan involving central plant overhauls and construction of several 50 and 100 thousand square foot buildings along with renovation of existing structures and building management systems.
Mr. Beers provided consulting services for master plan assessment and construction on HVAC and central plant design as an in house engineer for St. Johns University on existing and new construction. Additionally, Mr. Beers negotiated change orders and performed acceptance testing on mechanical systems. The main focus was a central command center that controlled all existing and new central refrigeration and steam plant to implement the 3010 carbon reduction plan.
Mr. Beers completed several high end homes in the range of 6 to 25 million and square footages from ten thousand to twenty-five thousand square feet with back up generation and clean power systems inclusive but not limited to secure intranet, cell phone repeater and tower acquisition, HD reception and satellite back up with network back bone and phone anywhere in the world on internet phone system and pc software.
Mr. Beers oversaw the completion of a $10 million school expansion and renovation in Bronxville, NY. This school involved remediation of mold and brick façade corrections along with floor leveling and furniture corrections. Because of delayed start the entire site was remediated for mold so the duct systems and materials were clean and acceptable to the owner.
Mr. Beers was the project director on the completion of a 24 foot high, 60 foot long and 2 foot thick monolithic poured foundation wall system with orchestra pit, elevator pit, underground electric, underground plumbing, line drilling, 100 ton rock breaking, shoring, and finishing of the concrete for a theater in New York City.
Mr. Beers was the project director for the completion of the MTA Rail Control Center in midtown Manhattan. The project consisted of mold abatement, general construction, chilled water system, boiler systems, UPS and ATS systems, elevator banks - both hydraulic and tension, emergency power generation, telecommunications, networks, metal and wood casework, sprinkler systems, ansul systems, fire alarm systems, intercom communications, and the managing of over one hundred fifty tradesmen among thirty plus trade subcontractors with a project value of 72 million dollars.
