My name is Larry Williams, and I woud like to submit my resume for your consideration for Project Controls Manager. I have worked on some pretty good size projects in the power and petro-chem industries as a Planner,Scheduler, and Field Engineer. I have used P6 mostly on these projects, but have also had to use MS Project, Suretrak and P3 to import and export information from one to the other. I am familiar with Earned Value reporting, CPI and SPI charting and forecasting, and schedule analysis of the critical path. I believe that I would be a great addition to any organization, and of course I always welcome a challenge. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
P3/P6 Certification
I obtained P3 and P6 certification at Primavera in January 2008. Previously I have been a Journeyman pipefitter/boilermaker in the petro-chemical industry with a wide range of job experience. I have been the scheduler on new construction, shutdowns and turnaround projects, and I have gained a variety of experience in industrial construction practices. I thoroughly understand CPM scheduling techniques and schedule analysis, float calculations, and generating CPI and SPI charts and explaining the meaning of such charts to different members among the organization. I do have a lot to offer an organization, and a desire to learn from individuals with more years of experience. I am also looking forward to getting my PMP certification this summer from PMI.
Experience
R.J. Mycka, Inc. Planner / Scheduler March 2008 -Present
While working for R.J. Mycka I have worked on a variety of projects as a Scheduler and Cost Estimator using Primavera P6 and Contractor software, from Refinery Turnarounds and new construction to Fossil Power Plant shutdowns. From the WBS development and resource loading to using metrics such as Earned Value, SPI and CPI for measuring progress, I have gained a great deal of experience and continue to learn about project controls.
TIC Pipefitter / QCQA, June 2007 - January 2008
I have worked on 2 projects for TIC. The first was a new 55 million gallon Ethanol plant in Coshocton, OH. I installed the cooling tower piping, 16 and 30 inch schedule 40 carbon piping. I also worked on the big bore stainless piping coming from the columns, and worked closely with QC on proper installation of said piping, 100% x-ray. I also worked in Fort Pierce FL on a new coal-fired power plant called the Treasure Coast Energy project. I worked on punch list items such as small bore piping, walking down lines and checking heat numbers and line numbers making sure that the documentation was correct, and that all valves, orifice plates were numbered and installed correctly.
Fagen, Inc. Pipefitter Foreman, July 2006 - June 2007
I have worked on 2 projects with Fagen, the leader in Ethanol plant construction. The first was in Marysville MI at the Marysville Hydrocarbons Ethanol project. I was charged with the installation of the big-bore stainlesss lines coming off of the beer and rectifier columns, as well as connecting the piping in the pipe rack and making sure that the pipe shoes were in the right place and installed correctly. The second project was the Bloomingburg, OH ethanol project where i was a Foreman with 5 journeyman reporting to me. In this role safety was my main concern, quality and then production followed. I was instrumental in gettting rigging training for the project because of a few near misses.
HB Zachry Pipefitter / Boilermaker, January 2006 -May 2006
I worked 2 shutdowns with Zachry, the first being at Becjord Generating Station on the Ohio river. I worked on new stainless SO3 lines being installed in the Baghouse. The second was the shutdown at East at East Bend generating station in Kentucky on the Ohio river. This project involved a lot of rigging, installing new duct paneling and new burners for the boiler.
PIC Pipefitter / Boilermaker, October 2005 - December 2005
This was a shutdown at the Progress Energy HYCO coal-burning power plant. On this project my task was to work with the NDE crew who had already located cracks in the steam headers that needed to be PT and MT tested. I also worked on prepping the tubes so that the panels could be set quickly to catch up with the schedule. This is where I realized the importance of identifying the critical path of activities as this was one area that put the job behind schedule.
FLUOR Pipefitter, October 2004 – October 2005
This was a new construction project for Fluor for Louisville Gas & Electric in Ghent, KY. We installed and FGD unit
(Flue Gas Desulfurization) for EPA compliance.
