I earned a MA in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado and a BS in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska. A Licensed Architect in California, Arizona and Hawaii, I won several awards from the American School and University as well as the Masonry Award from the Nebraska Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS AND SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Senior Architectural Designer, S.S.O.E., a $100M architectural and engineering firm, 2008 to 2009. Led planning and coordination of major healthcare, retail and commercial projects. Produced design presentation material and directed three project designers. Heavy client contact. Managed $17M in project designs.
Designed mixed use Lifestyle Center. Designed and presented architectural theme for 144K sq.ft. mixed use facility with 16 buildings on 8 acres using innovative design elements. Held periodic review sessions and submitted clear visual images, obtaining city approval and meeting developer’s construction schedule.
Senior Design Architect, Archicon, a $10M architectural firm, 2003 to 2008. Managed $10M in projects, overseeing staff of five. Designed commercial projects for healthcare, retail and commercial offices.
Created plans for major office complex. Working closely with general contractor, designed the innovative, pedestrian-oriented Stapley Office Center, incorporating high-tech amenities, balconies, floor-to-ceiling glass and sustainable interior design strategies to fit urban setting. Met contractors schedule and budget.
Design Architect, Allen & Philp Architects, a $1M architectural firm with 10 employees, 2000 to 2003. Managed $1M in projects, leading design efforts for hospitality and residential structures. Managed three staff.
Senior Design Architect, Oz Architects, a $2M architectural firm, 1997 to 2000. Managed design team of five and planned and coordinated design of hospitality and commercial projects.
Senior Design Architect, Leo A. Daly, a $100M architectural and engineering firm, 1980 to 1997. Led team to design healthcare, academic, and commercial projects. Managed 25 staff and $15M in projects.
Merged Sports complex to new Activity Center. Led innovative, partially underground design to maintain existing campus pedestrian mall space. Designed three-story, naturally lit atrium space that served as community meeting area for students.
Senior Designer, Nihon Sekkei Architects, a $100M architectural and engineering firm, 1991 to 1994. Led team to design commercial projects in Japan, Thailand and Jakarta. Managed staff of five and $40M in design projects.
Developed plans for major complex in Thailand. Led design of 22-story 265K sq.ft. mixed use Siam Technology Center office complex with convention hall, condominiums and retail space. Developed conceptual design, providing variety of options to client. Addressed environmental, cultural and urban issues.
