Co-Op – Project Assistant Jan 2006 – May 2006
• Project: Technology Enterprise Park five story office building including lab facilities and offices located on North Avenue in downtown Atlanta, GA.
• Role: Initial phase of project with responsibilities including assisting Project Manager with bidding the contract, scoping subcontractors, pricing, and attended biweekly progress meetings.
• Achievement: obtained significant experience in working in a professional environment; gained significant confidence in dealing with contractors.
Co-op – Project Assistant Aug 2006 – Dec 2006
• Project: North Fulton Regional Hospital involved construction of a new three story tower and renovation of existing facilities
• Role: Set up scheduling meetings, responsible for subcontractor submittals, attended Owner Architect Contractor meetings; the project manager for the renovation of Bariatric Gym
• Achievement: assumed leadership role on a project; learned to take initiative in order to successfully complete a project; played a large role on a project team
Co-op – Project Assistant May 2007 – Aug 2007
• Project: Children’s Health Care of Atlanta at Egleston building a five story hospital building with five stories of parking below in Decatur, GA.
• Role: Final phase of building with responsibilities including inventory of bathrooms and locker rooms; made use of computer program (On-Screen Takeoff) to better identify different parts of hospital; helped with punch list and final inspections
• Achievement: Learned how the final phase of a building is completed; learned about close-out and punch lists; became familiar with On-Screen Takeoff
Co-op – Project Assistant Feb 2008 – May 2008
• Project: Newell Rubbermaid Corporate Office Building a fourteen story office building and seven story parking deck in Sandy Springs, GA
• Role: Final phase of project construction; responsible for close out documents for owner including warranties, drawings, and specifications; also took responsibility for submittals for the interior of the building
• Achievement: Gained further confidence in dealing and talking with subcontractors; learned a great deal about the close-out process and documents
