Being raised on a family farm, coupled with my over twenty-five years of work experience in the agriculture and construction industries, make me a perfect match for this position and the one it leads into. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to gain immeasurable skills and qualifications in fields such as sales, accounting, merchandising, operations, management, farming, construction, demolition, excavating, trucking, and more. Being a farm kid whose family also owned a large excavating business not only gave me the ability to start quite young at attaining my work experience, but also gave me the discipline to work hard from before sun-up to long after my peers had called it a day. Serving in the 182nd Air National Guard further instilled my hard-working attitude and gave me even more insight into following directions, protocol and chain of command procedures. I have more than a willingness to work hard and learn all that it takes to do the position; I have the drive and desire.
I have experience with computers, human resources and training. I am used to being on call twenty-four hours a day, handling emergency situations and making quick and decisive decisions. I am able to work on my own if the job calls for it, while just as effortlessly able to work as part of the team or as supervisor. I have worked in projects vast and diverse ranging in budget from $5,000 to $2,000,000. Successfully bidding work requires the ability and aptitude to not only make a profit, but more importantly bid in a way that makes a sense, taking into account market shifts, sudden change in supply costs, and doing my level best to ensure that there were no unforeseen circumstances. I was very successful at this. I have supervised large crews. In addition, my experience brings with it the knowledge of how to handle service, repairs, inspections, and changing or rearranging plans to accommodate any situation that might occur. While I am a strong and versatile worker, I am only interested in a position that allows me to be challenged mentally. Currently I am with the Indian Creek Landfill as Lead Mechanic, a position I wasn’t seeking, but was solicited for last spring by the Vice President of PDC. He had heard I was closing my business and asked if I was interested in operating heavy equipment at the landfill. At the time I thought it was a good choice for me, while in reality it was too easy of a choice, and I quickly received a promotion due to my considerable knowledge of heavy equipment. While I enjoy working at the landfill, I am seeking a more challenging career.
Customer service and support without sacrificing integrity has always been something I believe in, and my service and support to clients has always gained me the utmost respect, return customers, and a reputation for doing all it takes and doing things right that I am proud of. My work experience has given me a strong foundation of knowledge and training that is immeasurable. I now aspire to use all of my experience, expertise, drive, and qualifications to be part of a great team. What I’m looking for is my final place of employment, somewhere I can put everything I know and have into. An organization that I can look forward to retiring with way down the road, but somewhere I don’t ever want to retire from. I am willing to do everything it takes to not only be a success for your client, but to make your client a success. My vast experience would be hard to equal. I take great pride in my work and know my experience and dedication would make me a huge asset to any organization. I look forward to meeting with you.
