Structural Steel Erection Project Manager/ Cost Estimator

Duties include detailed and accurate estimates from the project engineer design drawings as well as interpretation of specifications and addenda. A through understanding of the erection drawings, construction site and access for cranes and any other equipment needs for the job site. Preparing the project plan, written scope of work, cost estimate and schedule for all to be included in the proposal. Duties as project manager include managing field operations, ensuring proper execution of the contract including the approvals on construction drawings, safety, personnel, coordinating subcontractors (written and verbal), material procurement, equipment, welding inspections and scheduling for the most efficient and safe completion of all on going and future projects. As the senior cost Estimator/Project Manager, review design drawings and specifications to prepare accurate detailed scope of work for the project cost proposals, to include budgetary figures for supplier quotes on materials, labor costs, fabrication, coatings, transportation, engineering, drafting/detailing, inspections and project management costs for the scope of work package. Review of safety manuals, company standards, deadline critical issues, technical scope and the project plan for the team. Responsibilities included financial responsibility for all my, and my team’s assigned projects, analyzing, monitoring the costs and any potential changes in scope, writing and tracking all work orders, schedule and contract value, managing priorities for multiple critical deadline driven projects through to completion of all end of contract activities. Working with the engineering design departments on approvals, steel fabrication, erection and completion drawings. Conducting and attending job site pre bid meetings on the projects, power plants, platforms, refinery projects that include, large complex industrial structural steel, piping, associated infrastructure, and commercial projects.

Supervised crews onsite in refinery/power plant and natural gas facilities on projects for operations and maintenance capitol projects. Performed duties encompassing all facets of project management including project cost estimates on materials, manpower, equipment and tools and safety issues. Scheduled and trained (trade courses and safety) personnel and monitored the project plan and budget. Coordination with plant maintenance superintendents on required maintenance and plant engineers on new construction, planning, estimates and execution of proposed projects.
