With over 30 years experience in construction Supervision and Management as Sub-contractor, General Contractor for both public works and private construction, Developer, Owner’s Representative, and Manufacturer’s Representative, I have the rounded background to perform all aspects of construction from sales and estimating to trouble shooting, site supervision and project management. I have served particularly well in project or field management where there are time or budget limitations.
December-2005-Present Project Manager, Oldcastle Pre-cast Services Group
Managed West Coast operations for the Services Group designing and installing pre-cast buildings, towers and equipment for the communications industry. During the last year managed Maintenance, repair and construction for 39 Com-Cast facilities. Group sales went from 8M to 36M during this period.

August 2001-December 2005 Senior Project Manager, K&P Development and Construction Services
Began company that specializes in private client build-outs, new construction and remodels for such clients as Lifetouch Photography, Hartman Management, Highpoint Equine Center, Pecan and Pin Oak Plazas, Great Southwest Equestrian Center and Cargill Cotton Services. Performed carpentry, painting, Sheet-rock, process piping, electrical and plumbing ‘in-house’. Company achieved gross sales of over $3,000,000 in the first 12 months. {Company sold}
April, 2000-August, 2001 Senior Project Manager, Berry Development
In charge of sales, estimating and construction management, including subcontract and material solicitation for a start-up company. Performed work on new strip centers, churches, warehousing and build-outs. This start-up company achieved profitability within 2 months of start-up. {Left after successful start-up contract completed}
February, 1999-April, 2000 Special Projects Manager, Strata-build Construction
Returned as chief estimator and special project manager for up to 13 projects at a time including Bush Intercontinental Airport, HISD, Harris County and University of Houston. Performed complete labor and material take-offs for an average of two, multi-million dollar projects, weekly. Also in charge of subcontractor and material solicitation and negotiations. Also ran OSHA and MBWE programs for company. {Recruited to perform start-up duties for a new company}
November, 1996-February, 1999 Senior Project Manager, Humphries Construction
In total charge, from estimating to completion of an average of three projects simultaneously. Projects included King George Hotel renovation, St. John’s church, Anderson-Greenwood Valve, and the Mexican Consulate. August, 1989-November, 1996 Special Projects Manager [began as field superintendent], Strata-build Construction
Performed estimating, scheduling, subcontract and material solicitation/negotiation while managing over 300 field employees working on demolition, masonry, carpentry and waterproofing for up to 5 projects simultaneously including Jackson and CLC [HISD] schools, Harris County, Jersey Village Police station, Cy-fair schools, S. Houston schools, SW Bell buildings, Spring Branch Schools and Kelly Moore Paints. Initiated, estimated and completed changes in scope totaling over $2,000,000 in 170 Change Orders on one HISD project alone. Completed a 2.9 million-dollar renovation of Memorial Middle School in two months, earning an early completion bonus. {Recruited by Humphries Construction}
June, 1987-August, 1989, Field Engineering Coordinator, Semco Pneumatics [Keystone Valve]
Designed and installed pneumatic systems for Yukong Oil at their new Polyethylene and polypropylene plants in Ulsan Korea. Designed and installed limestone slurry feeds at Georgetown Steel [N. Carolina] and transport systems [conveyor and air] for Nabisco, Kraft and Frito-Lay foods. {Company sold}

Performed all sales and field construction duties for a process system design and build firm specializing in Food and Chemicals. Clients included Frito-Lay [22 plants], Kraft Foods [6 plants]. Nabisco [3 plants], Carnation, Pace Foods, Imperial Sugar, Riviana Foods, Hormel [2 plants], Oscar Mayer, Folger’s Coffee and Proctor & Gamble. Systems included Stainless Steel piping and vessels, optical sorters, boilers, heat exchangers, centrifuges, conveying systems, deodorization, hydrogenation and aging/curing. {Company sold}
June, 1978-June, 1986, Senior Resident Engineer, Anderson Clayton Corporate
In charge of construction of all ACCO plants including Gaines Dog foods, Chiffon Margarine and Seven Seas salad dressing, Long Reach and Roll-lift, Igloo Coolers, Big Red and ACCO feeds, Western Cotton services, and Gulf-Atlantic Warehouses in the USA. Detached as chief engineer for 32 plants in Mexico and 48 plants in Brazil. Over eight years over 40 new plants were brought in on time and under budget. {Company purchased by Quaker Oats}
