SKILLS
-Started as a ground-man with Texas Power & Light Co and worked my way through the 4 1/2yr apprenticeship program. During my formal apprenticeship attended Serviceman School learning proper and safe meter setting techniques and various meters that are associated throughout distribution system, from single phase through primary metering including Ct's and Pt's.
-The City OF Fort Worth TX, rubber glove school and re-certified as a First Class Lineman.
While with the City I learned a considerable amount about 6.6 Series Street Light Circuits.
-Southwestern Public Service Co-NOW- Xcell energy,
-Journeyman with SPS and through the IBEW Local 602 attended live line Bare-hand School, Bare-hand certified at 138KV and 230KV.
-Attended SPS sponsored courses at Amarillo College, (Electrical Utilities Technology) with 17hrs accredited.
-Worked on a 5 man re-conductor crew re-conducting 12.5KV Primary Feeder Circuits in Dallas TX.
-Changed out existing 3 phase solid blade under slung switches to 600AMP 3 phase, 3 gang air switches.
-Involved in setting concrete structures to replace the wood structures on several existing 12.5KV and 25KV circuits.
-With the combined knowledge, of line work described used a considerable amount of rubber protective equipment, line hose, blankets, hoods, poly-cross arm covers, fiberglass lay out arms, and mechanical jumpers, as well as pulling rigs and braked tension rigs, along with my rubber gloves and sleeves. I have also worked with high voltage volt meters, phasing meters, and clip-on amp meters along with establishing daily Safety Clearances in order to safely perform all of these tasks safely without any incidence:
-Florida Power & Light as A journeyman lineman and attended their Training & Methods Center in Miami learning the FP&L Safety & Construction Standards as well as T&D switching procedures and rubber glove training,(3mo course.) Also attended FP&L Serviceman/Troubleman School as journeyman lineman and a member of the IBEW local #759 in Pompano Beach FL:
-Continued as before stated, on re-conductor projects and 3phase conversions from 12.5KV to 25KV.
-In Louisiana worked on a Catenary Light Rail system installing light rail poles and all of the overhead lines associated with the light rail system.
