To find a company I can stay with and grow with. I have a vast base of knowledge and experience and would like to be an asset to the company I work for.
RESUME
Arthur Wesley Turney III
With a want to know about construction, from an idea to the actual conception and completion of any project I enjoy what I do and have the "hands on" experience and knowledge obtained over the years to perform the duties required of a Superintendent. I have worked for many companies over the years and contracted on my own for seven (7) of those years in Northern California.

Remodeled the Fire Station kitchen and added outside area for barbecuing and relaxation. Remodeled and added locker room and shower facilities including a new area for the ballistic laboratory. While working toward our goal to complete this project many changes occurred and were incorporated into the original design without any delay in the schedule. I worked directly with the Police and Fire Chief, and the architectural firm of Wolff/Lang/Christopher, Architects, Inc.
Kipp Grubb - 714/987-0909
1985 - 1987 GENERAL FOREMAN on the Science, Engineering and Math Building at Cal State Long Beach University. Constructed an eight story structural steel building, and ran a crew of Fourteen (14) men. I personally did all the layout of the grade beams, pile caps, and all foundation work necessary to erect the building. Pleased to note that during the erection of the steel columns not one base plate on any of the grid lines were off.
The job was three months behind when I started and we were on track by the time the first floor was poured. Worked with all subs on scheduling and vital areas needing to be completed to proceed with the project. This project lasted one and one-half (1-1/2) years.
Ike Beavor, Superintendent - 619/956-8106
1982 - 1985 GENERAL FOREMAN on the Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital.
Ran three (3) different crews comprising of a total of twenty-four (24) to thirty-five (35) men depending on which projects were going on. My responsibilities included but were not limited to; all layout for grade beams, pile caps, bolt templates, pour in place walls (averaging 24" thick and 22' high), construction of morgue tunnel, and a connecting overhead walkway from existing hospital to new sixteen story hospital. Performed duties required to complete the job, scheduling all subs, working personally with hospital personnel as there was a great deal of remodeling being done during normal hospital operations.
I was on this job from start to finish while working for Pozzo Construction Company. Victor Pozzo, President - 213/666-5440
1976 - 1982 GENERAL CONTRACTOR as owner of my own company.
I built thirty five (35) turn-key homes in the Sacramento, Lake Tahoe area. Homes I built ranged from 1200 square feet to 5500 square feet including an airplane hangar adjacent to a home in the Cameron Park area.
Worked for several contractors doing various jobs ranging from foundations to finish work.
Jim Blacketter, General Contractor - 619/677-4162
1971 - 1976 Served my carpenter apprentice ship with Local Union 1648, Dana Point, California. During my apprenticeship I attended Santa Ana College, Orange Coast College and Long Beach State taking Blue Print reading, planning estimating and other courses necessary to succeed in our business.
During this time I worked at the Dana Point Sewage Facility for Weardco Construction Company, Donovan Construction Company on University of California Irvine's Business Administration Building. Abco Construction Company on the Santa Ana Court House and the Tustin/Santa Ana Hospital. Herb Greer Commercial Framer working on roof structures and interior framing for various tilt-up buildings throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties.
I have learned that in doing a good job, getting information needed and obtained during construction is vital, whether its change orders, discrepancies or just everyday communication, team work is what in fact completes all jobs.
I am looking forward to meeting with you, please call if you need additional information or have any questions.
Sincerely,
Arthur Wesley Turney III
