Toll Brothers, Inc, Raleigh, North Carolina May-August 2007
Intern – Construction Manager
I spent the summer working thru the chain of command to eventually aid the Assistant Construction Manager and shadow the Project Manager. I also spent time working as a service technician and with the warranty department making visits to occupied homes as well as doing last minute touch-up and punch work for walk-thrus.
I learned the processes involved in building and maintaining a residential home. Through that process I managed sub-contractors to follow up on work and schedule new jobs. I also had a chance to meet with city inspectors as they were called out to inspect various features of homes.
My final job was to shadow the Project Manager to learn about the aspects of his position in the division. With him I attended weekly production meetings to discuss progress and delays with the teams responsible for the production processes.
