Responsible for managing the civil works associated with temporary drainage, electrics and water supplies for the Olympic park. This includes liaison with CLM the Olympic delivery partner, the affected Principal Contractors and the Tier 2 Contractor. Main duties include ensuring that all work is undertaken safely and that all documentation is in place especially when working within contaminated areas of the site. Responsible for the overview of all work packages on the Velodrome from stage C onwards. Developing systems with the design manager to effectively monitor design requirements and changes. To advise on the buildability of the various elements of work.
To assist with the formulation of the scope of works prior to tender. To develop the pre-construction documents and assisted with the programming and sequencing. Established and maintained dialogue with CLM the Olympic delivery partner.
Nov 2007– July 2008 Balfour Beatty Construction Ltd Heathrow Terminal 5 – Snr. Construction Manager
Assisted with the close out of the Terminal Transit System fitout from March ’08. Duties included liaison with BAA control and tier 1 and 2 suppliers, site supervision, quality control and defect clearance.
Managed the handover and return of work areas ready for the commencement of flight operations. All works undertaken at night.
Assisted in the close out of the Rail Station and platforms within Terminal 5 for both London Underground and Heathrow Express including the associated areas ready for the opening on March ’08. Duties included liaison with BAA control and tier 1 and 2 suppliers, management of snagging and defect clearance.

Senior Construction Manager
 Responsible for a team of 8 Work Package Managers to procure, plan and deliver this £130m signature office building form site strip to builder’s clean. A highly successful project where site safety, quality, cost and programme was maintained with the help of a workforce of some 750 operatives and staff.
 Duties included site control, progress reporting including some programming and chairing or attending safety, client, design, and progress meetings.
 Implemented the use of a bespoke safety induction video and questionnaire for use on the Wellcome Trust site that was regularly updated as the project moved into different scenarios or phases.
 Procured and managed piling, builder’s work, brick & blockwork, temporary electrics, cranage, hoists, roof covering, floor screeds, stone flooring, and fire protection work packages
 Liaison with all departments of the Wellcome Trust affected by the construction work.
 Developed the Health and Safety plan, fire plan and logistics plan.
 Managed the site logistics team .
 Acted as Project Manager during absence of PM including formulating the relevant reports and attending Client meetings as required.

 Responsible for a team of 6 Work Package Managers to procure, plan and deliver this prestigious £20m Centennial Project.
 Part way through the scheme the Project Manager was hospitalised and did not return to the project. I was promoted to Project Manager for the remaining 12 months following his departure.
 Duties included liaison with all departments of the Tate organisation affected by the construction activity and delivering a monthly report to the Tate board of Trustees
 Duties included site control, progress reporting including some programming and chairing or attending safety, client, design and progress meetings.
 Dealt with a major flood to the work and subsequent insurance claim.

Responsible for the procurement, planning and production control of all the identified work packages from demolition through to builder’s clean. The team consisted of three specialist managers each of whom managed a number of packages The project was over five floors in between the Chairman’s floor and the reception/ restaurant and food testing rooms on the ground floor. Short-term post to assist with completing a project that was behind programme. Responsible for a team of six specialist managers each of whom managed a number of packages. Programme, site safety and noise control were the key aspects of a difficult project, all of which were managed by the team.
May 1996 until January 1997 Senior Construction Manager on the 100% Hold Baggage Screening Project at Terminal I Heathrow Airport (Landside)
Responsible for the construction enabling works to allow the installation of baggage screening and conveyor systems to take place. This involved detailed planning and phasing to carry out the work to avoid interfering with the operation of the airport terminal but still achieving the very tight programme safely and within the cost plan. September 1995 until May 1996 Construction Manager on The Replacement Baggage System and The Early Bag Store at Terminal I Heathrow Airport (Airside)
Responsible for the planning and construction activities to demolish the existing structures and to erect new steelwork and accommodation pods for the baggage handling equipment and staff. All during the close down period from 11pm to 4am. Once the structural works had been completed the installation of the new baggage handling equipment was undertaken and commissioned. All works were undertaken without interfering with the operation of the baggage handling facilities operated by British Airways, British Midland and Aer Lingus. Works completed on time, safely and within cost plan.
June 1995 until September 1995 Construction Manager on the Sainsbury Supercentre at Straiton, Edinburgh
Responsible for the planning, procurement and production control of Phase I of this project. This included the infilling of redundant tin mines with PFA, the diversion of and enlargement of the dual carriage way serving the adjacent site, the installation of the drainage, foundations and steelwork. In addition I procured the following work packages: envelope cladding, brickwork, site accommodation and site electrics.
