I set up a surveying department from scratch,
converted ambivalent clients to loyal ones, and
developed new business for a small engineering
company. While accomplishing these things, I
also trained both field personnel and engineers
in statutory surveying requirements and
professional standards of practice.
Starting as a rod man with a surveying crew at
minimum wage, I went on to build full-service
engineering departments that attained new levels
of client service and confidence. In
collaboration with the Director of Construction
Management of Triton College, I helped establish
the only degree-granting program in land
surveying in Chicago.
I excel at:
- Leading and training field surveying crews.
- Training and developing synergistic civil
engineering departments.
- Increasing client satisfaction and retention.
- Establishing procedures and methods for
indexing and referencing surveying layouts.
- Resolving boundary disputes in legal
proceedings.
Key Skills: Proficient in AutoCad, Eagle Point
and PacSoft. Skilled leader, trainer and mentor.
Well-versed in statutory and legal requirements,
assuring quality and integrity of field
operations and survey documents.
MA, Labor and Industrial Relations, University
of Illinois. BS, Economics, Illinois State
University. Active member of Illinois Professional
Land Surveyors Association and National Society
of Professional Surveyors.
