I am writing in interest of the position of superintendent. Below you will find the highlights of my career for the past four years and my philosophy. I have over 19 years of experience.
In my opinion it is not enough to have knowledge of the construction industry, you must also have the desire to succeed. The best way to ensure success is to work closely with subcontractors, maintain schedules, maintain interpersonal relations, and provide communication promptly, efficiently, and constructively.
In the last four years I have successfully turned over five projects under budget and before our final completion date. I realize (especially at a time like this) that keeping costs below budget benefits not only the General Contractor, but also the Owner and additional trades.
I am not the type of person who enjoys spending my days in the office / job trailer; I really enjoy interacting with hands on mentality. I treat every project as it is my own investment and therefore feel that if I am able to develop a promising relationship with subcontractors and owners, which ever firm I am employed with benefits with repeat business.
I would enjoy speaking with someone from your firm in regards to this position. I have letters of recommendationat your request. Please know that I am willing to relocate at my own expense or travel. In advance I thank you for taking the time to review this information. I look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Michael S. Barbee
