Hired to begin a new retail concept by building and overseeing the entire construction and facility program. Responsible for interviewing and hiring vendors and contractors as well as continuously evaluating all design and construction elements for this brand new concept. Responsible for purchasing and procurement of all vendor related items as well as daily project management duties from plan distribution to store completion. Performed real estate site visits and evaluations as well as construction visits.
• Reduced new store cost by 25% over the four stores built.
• Worked with fixture manufacturer to develop custom fixtures and hardware reducing the fixture costs by 15%.
• Worked with Marketing and Visual Merchandising to develop and continue store concepts.
2006 – 2007 | Belk Store Services | Store Planning Coordinator
Responsible for planning and coordinating new and remodel Belk stores. Coordination includes working with Design Coordinator, Project Coordinators, merchants and visual merchandising to ensure that stores are planned appropriately from design, construction, architecture and retail perspectives.

• Leader in the development of CAD standards including the development of virtual store fixtures and compiling information for merchandising and procurement.
2004 – 2006 | The Body Shop | Manager of Design & Construction
Responsible for managing the design and construction of 60 stores per year, including new stores, remodels and relocation stores in Mexico, US and Canada. Responsibilities included all phases of the project from lease review and letter of intent to store turnover.
Other responsibilities:
• Member of the global value engineering team where I worked closely with design team members from the UK, Asia, and Europe to strategize a cost effective global design that could be sourced globally and regionally.
• Responsible for maintaining and meeting store budgets for all projects.
• Responsible for managing all related vendors and contractors while implementing global design decisions in North America
• Successfully managed the design and construction of the two new global design flagship stores in the U.S.
• Developed and implemented a cosmetic fixture/remodel initiative for 500 North American stores and completed it within three months.
• Designed and developed new remodel strategy that implemented the new global design and stayed within remodel budget constraints.
• Responsible for facilities maintenance of all North American stores.

Responsible for managing the design and construction process from schematic phase through completion of construction. This process includes, researching each project for demographics, allocations, allowable design elements, tenant criteria, lease requirements, etc. and creating design solutions packages to present to senior management. Also responsible for working closely with real estate and legal to negotiate landlord and tenant needs as well as reviewing lease information and completing lease exhibits.
Other responsibilities:
• 3d conceptual design work.
• Fixture design, construction management, CAD standards development and management.
• Reduced the architectural costs for new stores by 33% and improved productivity.
• Implemented new AutoCAD standards to work with outside architects and in house.
