Promoted to position to turn around and lead troubled pneumatics product Division, reporting to the President/CEO. Responsible for full functioning $50 million and 300 employee Division, including full income statement and balance sheet accountability.
After developing full strategic and operational analysis, restructured the Division, including key staff positions, and developed a strong team that:
• Turned around Division from -18% return on assets to +21% over the 2 years;
• Improved on-time delivery to our customers from 60% to 90%;
• Improved our productivity, sales per employee, from $125,000 to $172,000.
Additionally, in 2000, within these 2 very successful years, led the operation through a 5 week labor stoppage. Through strong development of detailed plans and regular communication, we successfully managed to satisfy our customer requirements by shipping at 80% of pre-strike levels. After the union work force ratified the new contract, we successfully merged them back with regular communication and full disclosure and involvement of initiatives and results.
