Senior Project Manager (Contract Amount: 48.5 M)
This project includes replacement of the existing baggage handling spaces; construction of new baggage screening rooms; replacement of the outbound baggage conveyor systems, and installation/integration of TSA-provided Explosion Detection System (EDS) machines. As Senior Project Manager, my duties include:
* Lead, communicate, and direct the project execution for the project team.
* Ensure necessary support is obtained from engineering and airport operations to meet project objectives.
* Coordinate with Architect / Design Engineers including RFI’s.
* Monitor schedule of activities leading to the completion of the contract with clear deliverables and acceptance defined criteria.
* Keep the Senior Management informed of project progression and highlight any major concerns/issues/successes as they arise.
* Manage the day-to-day interface with the project team and ensure all communication is effectively controlled.
* Ensure the project team is effectively structured and the roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, coordinated and understood.

Senior Project Manager (Contract Amount: 20 M)
Project Manager for a LEED certified architecturally elite fitness building at Cal State University San Bernardino campus. This project included a basketball court, hockey rink, two saunas, aerobic rooms, cliff climbing, work out and weight rooms. This complex also held the administrative offices for the campus athletic department with state of the art conference room. The building had a double apex fan shaped roof that created a challenge and became a central architectural piece for the campus. This building was mentioned in the regional AIA awards.

11/03 to 01/ 05 Torres – Bryan, JJV. (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Senior Project Manager / Quality Control (Contract Amount $20 M)
Project Manager and Quality Control Manager for this $20 million LEED certified hanger project at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. This hanger was the first LEED certified building by the US Air Force. This was a design build project that was managed from cradle to grave. It was written up in the local newspaper, ENR and the Air Force Times as an example of LEED certification can accomplish and the rewards the bring to a project. As the contractor Senior Project Manager, I was responsible for the day-to-day operation of this facility. The project was completed within the budget refrains and schedule benchmarks. This included reviewing drawings and specifications for constructability, evaluated and prepared recommendations for changes in scope of work, lead team meetings, reviewed consultant work, approved payments, and established / implemented an effective quality control program for compliance with the Army Corp of Engineers.

Review construction contract documents on all Air Force Base Projects in the Los Angeles Area. Review all submittals and RFI’s for compliance and provided technical instructions for the Air Force. Closed out the Roybal Court renovation project at the Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles.

I was recruited as a senior expert to institute improved Quality Control program for JOC contractors. In this role I substituted the proper QC documents and procedures to contractors who were having difficulty with Navy regulations and procedures over their Quality Control program.

As PM Manager on two major building projects totaling $80 million, it was my responsibility to oversee all field aspects of inspection and management of the two projects.
1988 - 1990 PINNER CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. (Los Angeles, CA)
Project Manager / Quality Control Manager (US Army Corps of Engineers Project)
As the contractor, I was responsible for the day-to-day operation of this $5 million Office Facility at a Federal Army Reserve Base. The project was completed on time and under budget and produced over $100,000 in Change Orders. I reviewed drawings and specifications for constructability, evaluated and prepared recommendations for changes in scope of work, lead team meetings, reviewed consultant work, approved payments, and established / implemented an effective quality control program for compliance with the Army Corp of Engineers. I also managed the Quality Control / Inspection program.
1985 - 1988 CARLSON AL SAUDIA (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Construction Manager Contract Amount $260 M)
Construction Manager for the King Saud Hospital renovation, a $260 million project. As Construction Quality Control Manager it was my responsibility to perform sufficient numbers, types or locations of tests and inspections to assure that all work was performed as per contract requirements.
1984 - 1985 DOOH CONSULTING ENGINEERS (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Construction Manager (Contract Amount $600 M)
I was responsible for construction management of a design build industrial bottling plant outside Riyadh. This including meeting with the owners to establish perimeters for the design, subcontract negotiations, issuing subcontracts, subcontractor billing analysis, submittal review and processing, scheduling, clarifications, progress billings, change orders. This project was over 600 million in value at completion.
1982 - 1984 CARLSON (Boston, MA.) (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Construction Manager (Contract Amount $240 M)
I was responsible for supervision of a $240 million 2-year construction contract for Saudi Arabia King Khalid Technical University. This included 5000 custom built faculty housing units for the University, a water treatment facility and associated support buildings on the University. This included preparation of pay requests and supporting documents, handling multimillion dollar international letters of credit, negotiating subcontracts and auditing subcontractor/vendor submittals. Concurrently set-up and supervised plant to provide pre-cast concrete panels for the project.
