Dear Sir/Madam:
With more than 20 years of experience in construction management, I am currently seeking new opportunities as a lead project superintendent or senior superintendent with a financially stable organization who offers long term rewarding opportunities of employment. In addition to unsupervised, self-motivation managing of large-scale, turn-key residential and commercial projects from the ground up, I also offer a demonstrated track record of turning around failing projects, aggressively reviewing and analyzing core problems and issues, and bringing them to successful completion. My employers and peers have consistently praised my take-charge attitude and ability to effectively interact with owners and their representatives, project managers, architects, engineers, designers, utility providers, sub-contractors, and inspection officials to foster a cooperative work environment, irregardless the degree of complexity involved. 30 hour OSHA and First Aid/CPR certifications are current; clean MVD record; current passport and able to pass any drug or alcohol testing. I am confident I would be a financial and beneficial asset to your organization.
Throughout my career, I have served as Lead Project Superintendent for Caviness Construction Company, Exclusive Development, Buffalo Construction, Starpointe Construction Group, JPI Multi-family Construction, Abeno Construction, Picerne Development Corporation, and Gosnell Builders/Pointe Builders. I have also owned Vintage Renovation & Construction, LLC, overseeing remodeling, renovations, alterations, and additions to historically designated residences and commercial buildings. A few selected project highlights include:
• Turning around a $6M commercial mixed use project, resolving all challenges left by five prior superintendents to successfully pass inspections and complete the project.
• Avoiding a $10K per day liquidated damages contract clause by turning around a Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurant project to on-time completion in an astonishing short time period.
• Completing the construction of an $11M 192-unit, 3-story, wood-frame college housing apartment complex for Colorado State University on time and within budget despite numerous setbacks.
• On time, on budget turn key completion of $12M 10 acre, 13 large buildings commercial medical office complex with unique challenges.
• Under budget and early turn over of $18M government subsidized 399-unit, 3-story, high density, wood frame in-fill apartment complex with 800 vehicle, 4-level pre-cast parking structure on 8 ½ acre site
• On time, on budget turn key completion of $12M 183-unit, 3-story wood frame assisted living complex with elevators, 800 seat dining facility, commercial kitchen, medical facilities and offices.
Please accept this letter and the attached resume as an introduction to my professional experiences. I welcome the opportunity to personally discuss how my expertise in project management, expense control, employee/sub-contractor relations, strict safety and quality control procedures, and negotiations would add value to your team. Until then, I look forward to speaking with you soon and thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Todd W. Barrick, Sr.
