EXPERIENCE:
County Electric Bridgeport, CT
Michael Corrtina, Owner 2005 - 2007
At County Electric their primary business is larger scale commercial installations. My duties and responsibilities there were similar to those at Chestnut Electric. At County I had the responsibility of supervising four apprentices and overseeing projects from beginning to end.
Chestnut Electric Wilton, CT
Tony Dorn, Owner 2001 - 2005
At Chestnut Electric I was involved in all aspects of the electrical trade, including commercial, residential and industrial work. My initial responsibilities began with the rough electrical installations of new construction as well as remodeling older buildings and homes. Within a year my responsibilities grew from apprentice work to supervising the other apprentices and then promoted to construction foreman responsible for two or more construction crews. I took pride in the responsibilities that the company entrusted in me. Prior to my leaving Chestnut Electric, I had been given the responsibility of completing larger and more complex industrial and commercial installations.
I made the difficult decision to leave Chestnut Electric to find a job closer to home. The daily commute to Wilton and from there to the job sites that were often in New York became grueling. The company vehicle benefit I was afforded, eliminated the extra cost, but did not compensate for the two plus hour’s loss each day spent in traffic.
Carl Wheeler Construction Specialty Design Milford, CT
Carl Wheeler, Owner 1998 - 2001
Three years experience in custom built residential house construction with The Carl Wheeler Construction Specialty Design Company. I was fortunate to receive exposure to the building trade. I acquired hands on experience and participated from start to finish in the construction of homes and by doing that I gained some knowledge of interior design. With this experience I decided I wanted the security of a career in the licensed trades. I left Housatonic Community College and began my apprenticeship in the electrical trade.
