ï® Deployed to and served on two different forward operation bases (FOB Farah and FOB Shank) in support of the Global War On Terrorism.
ï® Efficiently performed the duties and assumed the responsibilities of a Project Engineer (a position two pay grades higher than what I was originally hired to perform) while managing projects whose completed contracts would be worth over 85 million dollars in Farah Province and served in the capacity of a quality assurance representative on 31 million dollars worth of projects in Logar Province.
ï® Reviewed contracts, designs, schedules, pay estimates, and submittal documents for two Afghan National Army Garrisons and ten Afghan National Police projects within the Farah Province with a primary focus of adherance to all set engineering specifications and applicable quality standards. Performed similar duties for airfield construction at FOB Shank in Logar Province
ï® Conducted site inspections dependent on security conditions to ensure contract requirements for construction quality, project schedule, and jobsite safety were met.
ï® Improved communications with contractors by participating in semi-weekly coordination meetings and constant monitoring of e-mail traffic to provide prompt responses to any issues that may arise in the construction, security, or safety of twelve separate project sites throughout Farah Province and one site in Logar Province.
ï® Voluntarily served as a quality assurance representative and construction consultant for the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Farah.
ï® Assisted in the creation of training classes for and the mentoring of local national quality assurance representatives.
