SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Spearheaded a meeting to resolve plan issues. The plan had many issues that needed correcting. Costly change orders would have been the result. Initiated a meeting to resolve the issues and revise the drawings. Result: A major savings keeping change orders to a minimum.
Implemented collaboration between the utility company and excavator. The utility company would not be able to excavate the retention tanks with standard equipment. Using standard equipment would have taken too long. Resolved the situation using the excavating company to remove and replace large quantities of material. Result: The job was able to be completed on time and within budget.
Redesigned duct work, locations and pathways to accommodate the ceiling heights. The duct work, fire sprinklers and lighting combined would not fit between the steel beams and required ceiling heights. Construction would not be possible without revised plans, delays and extra costs. Result: Cost savings and time saved on the schedule.
Initiated a new procedure for the excavation of the building pad. They were removing more material than was necessary. Spending more money and costing more time. Developed a plan to only remove what was necessary, also saving on structural fill. Result: This saved money for the client and time on the schedule.
Designed a valley gutter and drainage swale to accommodate water from the existing parking lot. There was a problem with the civil plans. Water would not have drained from the parking lot. Result: This made it possible to continue with the construction without major delays.
