Senior Project Manager / General Contractor
Spearhead and direct construction of 41-story Class-A office building, ensuring unsurpassed quality, service and design. Manage bottom-line factors such as budgeting and negotiations. Sustain relationships with vendors and stakeholders while leading a dedicated team of 200 crewmembers and administrative personnel.
• Skillfully directed construction of the largest office building in Alabama, and the tallest on the Gulf Coast between Galveston, Texas, and Naples, Florida.
BELLSOUTH TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. – Atlanta, GA 1999 to 2004
Director, Design and Construction / Owner
Led world-class team of architects, engineers, project and program managers and others while directing planning, design and construction for the Atlanta Metro Plan, consisting of seven buildings on four sites, and eight parking decks. Managed all details of the 2.8 million square feet Class-A project. Cultivated and managed relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiated large, valuable contracts.
• Produced several distinct sites while maintaining design consistency across all sites, a strategy that enhanced the look and feel of the facilities while allowing for mass equipment and furniture purchases (sizeable cost reductions).
• Increased visibility for the company through skillful project design and construction; the finished project captured attention of the media, public and newly relocated office workers, and received numerous awards for excellence in design and engineering.
• Saved over $70 million (project originally budgeted at $871 million) and overcame substantial changes in scope to complete initiative on time.
SUNLINK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION – Atlanta, GA 1989 to 1998
Department Manager, Design and Construction / Developer
Promoted to plan and execute construction projects from start to finish in the U.S. and overseas, serving as trusted consultant for headquarters projects in Panama, Nicaragua and Israel, and directly overseeing the design and construction of regional headquarters in Los Angeles, Honolulu, Miami and Madison (up to 175,000 square feet), several call centers in Texas, Georgia and Florida, two data centers in Atlanta, and additional projects. Delivered a flawless record of on-budget and on-time performance.
• Managed design and construction of the award-winning, 525,000 square foot, Class-A BellSouth headquarters building, Campanile, including the base building and tenant improvements.
• Generated considerable cost reductions by leveraging proven industry expertise as consultant for large-scale, international projects.
• Championed site selection, land acquisition and all facets of construction of 17 mobile telephone switching centers in the continental U.S. and Hawaii.

Senior Project Manager / Developer
Spearheaded site selection, design and construction of two significant projects, including the 600,000 square-foot BellSouth regional headquarters building in Nashville, and the landmark 550,000 square-foot multi-tenant office building at 1100 Peachtree Street in Atlanta. Personally selected the Nashville site, and developed the budget, team and design from the ground up prior to receiving promotion to the Department Manager position.
• Met all deadlines and completed the momentous 1100 Peachtree Street project under budget ($5 per square foot below comparable costs of Class-A buildings).
• Received national and regional design awards for the 1100 Peachtree Street project in midtown Atlanta.

Planned and managed design and construction of numerous central offices, including switching and data centers. Scheduled and expedited projects, resulting in 100% on-budget and on-time results.
Manager, SOUTHERN BELL – Atlanta, GA
Provided leadership and support to expedite design, construction and post-construction activities for the 2.3 million square foot, 47-story corporate headquarters (Southern Bell Center) in Atlanta. Also, led the design and build out of a 120,000 square-foot data center.
