I would like to be considered for a position in the electrical trade & believe that I would be a valued asset if chosen. My skill-sets encompass designing, estimating, value-engineering, negotiating, purchasing, sub-contracting, project managing & managing electrical work of all sizes, phases, & disciplines with few exceptions ( petro-chemical, high voltage distribution, or renewable energy ). I hold a current Master Electrician license from the State of Texas & previously held several city licenses ( Houston, Galveston, Pasadena, La Porte, ... ).
My experience estimating includes design/build, hard bid, & design assist for houses, apartments, hi-rise condominiums, stand alone & hi-rise office buildings, medical, machine shops, manufacturing, testing, & interior build-out. All of my positions were of the "you eat what you kill" type, so I have normally PM'd multiple projects. As a PM,I always monitor project compliance with the furtherance of my employer's interest at the forefront. While at Melton Electric in Houston, I worked with a programmer to write a proprietary estimating program - then went on to develop a "labor analysis" program that analyzed labor expenditure to compare actual vs. estimated man-hours, but to also forecast trends in loss / gain expectations in order to make timely corrections. My PM duties have included billing & summarizing performance & satisfying the customer so my company was offered additional projects & we left the sites with new service customers. In most cases, I have inherited the tough jobs because I have displayed an ability to turn bad jobs around & maximize profits.
I am not proficient at using Accubid, as the work I performed for my last company did not lend itself to using canned estimating systems. However, my college background in math, my field experience, my design experience, my vast estimating experience, & the development & use of a proprietary estimating system coupled with the fact that I am a quick study guarantees a very short learning curve. I would appreciate a face to face interview so that you can verify my ability to be a great member of your team.
