• Manager of Systems Installation:
Johnson Controls Inc. (2006-2008 )
Systems Installation Manager of HVAC control systems installation and commissioning projects. I have full Ownership and P&L responsibility for a portfolio of controls installation projects and the related manpower, subcontractors, vendors, and construction managers. I was recruited by JCI for this position by JCI in 1996; and carry a portfolio representing 2.5-5M on average. Responsible for JCI techs and engineers, and subcontractors as job-required.
Significant Achievements: Systems Installation Manager on one of Johnson Controls largest-ever mission-critical data center
automation projects – CitiGroup Project Buckeye 2007
• Chief Engineer II – IBM Data Center- Columbus, Ohio :
Grubb & Ellis mission-critical division (2003-2006)
Responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance, planned outages and replacement, equipment rotation and (8) line maintenance technicians, in the operation of a mission-critical 400,000 ft2 Data Processing Center . Equipment covered included 1200 tons of central plant cooling, 188 Liebert chilled water units, six built-up generator systems, backup battery banks, boilers, cooling towers, Johnson Controls Metasys Facility Automation System, dual-source 13,200 volt switching station, 13.2 to 480 transformer and power conditioning banks, electrical switchgear, 42 static transfer switches, pumps, valves, pressure controls, and fire suppression systems
Significant Achievements: Systematically replaced all fire suppression system piping in nine separate zones, central fire panel
upgrade and tie-in into BAS system
:Upgraded BAS system operating software
: Installation of 600 tons of additional cooling to maintain N+2 status
: Completely updated computer based maintenance management system (MP2) tasks and timing
• HVAC & Facility Automation Systems Manager:
Limited Brands Corporate Offices and Distribution Centers (2001-2003)
Responsible for management of the HVAC and Control maintenance staff (21 people) in the daily maintenance, repair, renovation, and daily log and tests for all central plant chillers, pumps, towers, 8,800 VAV terminals, central building system, boilers, AHUs, Liebert equipment, and computerized maintenance management system (Mp2) for 7.2 million ft sq of conditioned space for offices and seven distribution centers.
Manage, train, and develop three shifts of technicians.
Coordinate security access and manage QC of subcontractors
Significant Achievements: Developed training standards of all staff

: Assisted in the vendor selection and upgrade of the BAS system in all seven facilities
• District Service Manager:
YORK International Mid South District (1994-2000)
Responsible for six Area Service Offices and employees in Arkansas, Southwest Tennessee, and Northern Mississippi; including labor coordination, project oversight, management of service contract relations and profitability, and sales of retrofit/replacement opportunities. Responsible for a team of 17.
Significant Achievements: Negotiated and project managed the replacement of over (30) R-11 and R-502 centrifugal chillers with help of area mechanical contractors from 1993 to 2000 – while profitability managing the core Area Service business base.
• President; General Manager:
Southwest Mechanical Company (1990-1994)
Founded Southwest Mechanical Company in 1990, after about two years of planning, and served the niche markets of intermediate industrial HVAC services, commercial office space remodeling and some D&B. Started company with cash on hand; and eventually had the backing of the SBA, with business loans and financial planning. Sold company for a modest profit last quarter 1993; and dissolved corporation. Responsible of a team of about 20
Significant Achievements: Developed company from scratch into a 2.2 m well-diversified mechanical contractor, and sold business profitably within 5 years.
• HVACR & Controls Service Manager
TRANE Columbus Ohio Branch Office (1986-1990)
TRANE local management recruited me heavily during my success at Johnson Controls, to assume leadership of the TRANE Columbus Service Operation, and to also be the branch Controls Division startup manager. Operations included rigorous forecasting, budgeting, and reporting on service operations financials, directly to the La Crosse Wisc. Headquarters controllers. Responsible for a team of 26 and staff of 6.
Significant Achievements: Developed the infrastructure for the Columbus Trane Controls Team, hiring several key people who went on to become exceptionally successful in the industry – as did the Columbus Controls Division.
• Service Sales Engineer; Performance Contracting:
Johnson Controls, Inc. (1980-1986)
Began in service sales and was trained into negotiation of performance contracts. Several Regional awards for performance during my tenure. Negotiated, among many others, a landmark, multimillion dollar performance contract to a condominium association requiring 24 months to consummate. Conducted a series of energy conservation lectures to School Districts, Colleges, and private clients; as a JCI Representative. A top sales performer every year, except my first – 1986.
Significant Achievements: Negotiated and sold, over a two year period, a Multi-Million dollar ten-year Energy Performance Contract for a multi-owner facility (a first for JCI) to completely renovate all mechanical and controls systems to create a high-efficiency central plant – saving several hundred thousand dollars per year in natural gas alone.
Industry skill sets:
• Experienced with most current business software and applications; including both engineering tools and financial applications.
• Good understanding of AIA, Prevailing Wage, and industry-standard P&L processes; including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Excellent understanding of the mechanical contracting business law processes.
• Proven Leadership skills providing professional guidance to some of the World’s top industry performers.

• Complete and proven MEP Service Operations Management background
Specialized technical education:
• Certified on JCI Metasys System Engineering tools required for BacNet, N2, and LonWorks systems; including rev 3.1 SCT and CCT, and the software configuration tools.
• Trained and experienced in the processes required on Fully Validated Controls Projects in mission-critical facilities
• Strong background in TRANE Tracer hardware and system programming via canned software.
• Trained and experienced in processes required in secure Military facilities
• Complete Factory training on the YORK ISN (pre-JCI) BAS and chiller plant automation product line
• Good familiarity with most major vendors BacNet, LONworks, and N2 interface hardware
• In depth understanding of process refrigeration, cascade systems, low-temp applications, centrifugal and rotary chillers and gas-fired adsorption chiller/boiler plants

• Extensive exposure to the management of Mission Critical Operations Support; including data centers, power plants, and process environments.
