• Project Manager for a site selection search for a business unit to locate a suitable 200,000 sq.ft. manufacturing plant. Coordinated all aspects of plant relocation working with architects and contractors for the business unit, a $10 million project. Completed relocation, plant and facility start up in 9 months.
• Project lead for the installation of a 45 KVA substation that reduced electric rates by converting to transmission power to serve three facilities.
• Redesigned the corporate office layout with input from internal customers and architects for the company reorganization in compliance with local building and fire codes.
• Preparing to take US Green Building Council exam to be a LEED Accredited Professional.
Director of Engineering 1995-1999
Directed all engineering, facility management and technical operations at five facilities, with up to 1.5M sq ft. Managed a staff of 8 engineers and staff associates of 50. Coordinated the contracts and construction plans with the needs of the operations, supply chain, management, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Coordinated the retrofit of a 270,000 sq.ft. facility, working with a design engineering firm, for a business unit that included all operations, inventory and shipping. Directed the start up of the operations, a $25 million project.
• Led project management with the design and construction of a 275,000 sq. ft. plant while working with the architects and contractor. Coordinated the $20 million construction plans that included all facets of the operations, supply chain, sales, marketing, quality, safety, and environmental requirements
• Directed construction of a 60,000 sq.ft. addition for warehousing that consolidated inventory to one site for improved error free and timely shipments
• Managed all capital projects in excess of $40 million at the three facilities.
• Developed new process and product for the wood composite market that ultimately became a $150 million deck business.
Maintenance Manager 1990-1995
Managed personnel on multiple plant sites, 3 engineers, 2 supervisors and 30 associates. Coordinated their work to meet the key performance indicators of the operations while maintaining quality. Ensured compliance with safety, environmental, health and OSHA regulations. Directed technical and maintenance personnel for 2 operations.
