Unfortunately, staying in San Diego five days a week put a damper on my family life in Orange County. I was forced to look for employment that would allow me to come home nightly. Salary: $52,000.00

My first project was a 27000 square foot, two level Borders Book Store in the Puente Hills Mall. This build out included offices, bathrooms, retail and display areas, elevators and an extensive espresso bar complete with kitchen/pantry. I worked closely with the Borders construction department, as well as the local health and building departments. This project was substantially completed in ten weeks, and the Borders staff moved in and opened on time with a C. of O. I then worked on a few other commercial construction projects for Progressive, but by January they were at a lull and had to lay me off. $1100.00 wk.
8-91 to Present:
Received California State General Building Contractor License (B625800) and started J.A. Construction. I have excelled for over seven years as a hands on General Contractor in commercial and residential construction. I have managed as many as 15 employees and always worked closely with my sub-contractors. Communication is a very big part of any management position. I firmly believe that I have an innate ability to objectively communicate with my peers to produce mutually positive results. Past projects completed by J.A.
