My job involved preparing the Electrical Bid proposal for commercial, institutional, and semi-industrial. Starting from going through the specs & plans and making notes, taking offs quantities from plans, with reference to plan notes and specifications, sending the requests for quotes, coordinating with vendors regarding technical and commercial aspects of their quotes, entering the data in estimating software (Logistics), tuning-up the bid-recap, and finally preparing the proposal/scope letter.

Job Duration: August 2006 to March 2008
In my position, as Project Manager, I was under taking projects up to $1,500,000.
This involves working closely with Divisional Head in performing the functions to successfully execute the assigned projects. These functions start with the job set up followed by budget preparation and getting it approved by the appropriate authority. Review of final construction drawings to confirm the estimated quantities or do new take offs (where necessary) for buy-out of major items like lighting fixtures, fire alarm, gear, etc. Make sure the best quote/s complies with specifications and other project requirements including lead time and warranties. Prepare and deliver the purchase order/s. Coordinate the submittals and review them before sending over for approval. Review the Contract Documents and give comments, to higher management, on the scope of work, exclusions, and any other general condition found misstated or in conflict. Arrange all necessary help and backup for field Foreman. Prepare the schedule of values and approximate work schedule in keeping with the overall project schedule involving other trades and delivery schedule of major electrical material. Attend project site meetings and take necessary corrective actions. Setup and maintain project files. Issue the material release advices and keep track of the delivered materials. Monitor the work progress and prepare forecast/s. Prepare & get issued the monthly request for progress payments with the target of maintaining the billing ahead of earned amount and make the cash flow positive as soon as possible. Towards the end of project work on the close out documentation, like As-Built, O & M manuals, Warranties, and Lien Release etc. to close out the project as quickly as possible after actual completion of site work.
During this tenure I have worked with John C Grimberg Co., Desbuild Inc., Holder Construction, Heffron Company, SMCI, and Coakley Williams.

Starting from take offs from plans, with reference to plan notes and specifications, sending the requests for quotes, coordinating with vendors regarding technical and commercial aspects of their quotes, entering the data in McCormick, tuning-up the bid-summary, and finally performing the bid check list and comparison analysis.

Previously I have worked in the fields of electrical & instrumentation maintenance and project construction management, in chemical and petrochemical industries, outside of USA. This included Chemical Fertilizer, Refinery, Cement Plant, Polyester Fiber, and Thermal Power Plants.
