I have been working in the trades for over thirty (30) years, serving employers and clients with attention to detail a and commitment to improving their environment. This mostly as a monetary support for a career in the theatre, but I chose the trades because it offered a means to express creativity toward a tangible and visual end. Time alters all, and recently my interest and focus have shifted away from theatrical work in a vacuum to the broader experience of life in a more conscious society. The immediacy of adjusting our lifestyle choices to support our planet in atmospheric resurgence seems most compelling to me now, and with an intrinsic need to work at a job that contributes to the betterment of society and stimulates my mental and physical interest , I am ready to move. While educate myself in the fields of renewable energies I am looking for work as an electrician.
As you can see in my resume, i have experience in all the trades, though primarily in wood & electricity, and I’ve spent the last five years working mostly in set and lighting design and implementation. The greatest lesson I have learned over the past thirty (30) years is how to apply information to solutions. I was lucky enough to mentor under people in both of my careers who encouraged the sensible discovery of possibility as a method of problem solving, and so have learned how to enable things to happen…whether done by myself or by encouraging others. As an example, my theatre directing teacher taught me to “ask the stupid questions,†or in other words, keep an open mind, and don’t rule out a possibility until it has been evaluated. The asking is the important thing, because consciousness rises when we take the time look and listen. While many day-to-day activities have mundane answers, creativity in the clutch is what makes work and life more interesting and it is the application of information that is the cornerstone of creativity.
I am confident in my ability to train this perspective on any set of specs in my given skill set. In addition, I am pursuing educational opportunities to upgrade my knowledge in the field of renewable energy applications and energy efficiency. While the conservation of energy (of all kinds) has always been a tenet for me, the specs of industry development demand continued research, and so I am always searching for new information to apply to my knowledge base.
Thank you for your time and consideration, and who knows what possibilities are out there for each of us.
Sincerely
Kevin
