Receive and prepare for shipment waste characterization samples from various Hanford project locations. Support the processing for shipment samples collected under project-specific Sampling and Analysis Instructions (SAI), Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAP), Work Instructions (WI), and other applicable project documents. Provide input to the completion/shipping designation of sample products generated from work package documents, Health and Safety plans, and radiological control documents used for collection activities. Assist collection staff in accordance with data collection plans, work control documents, procedural requirements, and DOE guidance documents. Support the interpretation of analytical laboratory and/or field screening results.
Interface with sample management staff, field analytical leads, radiological, industrial hygiene, other shippers and transporters, and characterization managers to ensure samples and documentation meet protocol of Sample Authorization Forms (SAFs) including adherence with laboratory analytical methods, data turn around times and data reporting, and shipping requirements, to meet project sampling requirements. Determine and prepare shipments for laboratory readiness. Provide data to end users in a manner that meets project needs. Ensure that field documentation is completed in an accurate and technically defensible manner.
Prepare and/or provide input into the preparation of summary reports that describe and report shipping activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure that supplies are available and field-ready condition to support project/functional needs. Report anomalies and non-conformances to the functional management and project lead in accordance with applicable procedures.

Responsible for safety for ~350 craftsmen, clients, and visitors were present onsite throughout this phase of work in 9 months. Duties included administrative duties related to mobilization, contract coordination, and retention and ongoing maintenance of temporary facilities. Work also included subcontractor safety plan pre-submittal review; providing safety orientations and training for all entering site; daily pre-job task planning and safety lead for daily crew meetings; design and implementation of various safety systems including fall protection systems, confined space entry, ventilation, and lighting plans; identified to control hazards of leading edge work, shoring, excavation, concrete placement, nitrogen concrete injection, and work area configuration for access. All inspections were performed in accordance with the CESH manual, including State and Federal OSHA. I acted as liaison for client, investors, management, subcontractors, medical care providers, and workers by provided information, assistance on compliance, contract interpretation, and addressed concerns/questions, as needed.
I was responsible for handling accident/incident/near miss investigations, worker injury evaluations, medical appointments and treatment coordination with physicians, light-duty assignments, and other duties of claims administration. Through incident rate tracking and reporting, I developed and implemented loss prevention strategies, and followed through on promulgation of findings and procedural changes.

The purpose of my position at ESD was to reduce claims frequency of injury and claims severity for 19 School District paying into a self-insured Trust. The position was created to provide proactive loss control, up front, verses managing the claim post-accident. Our main focus was identifying the nature, cause, staff position, and location of incidents/accidents occurring; quantifying the frequency and severity of the claims; and developing and implementing change to reduce losses.
