Worked on several commercial construction projects including a 60,000 square foot, custom-designed corporate headquarters for Luck Stone in Goochland, VA. Served as head superintendent of $60,000,000 West Broad Village project in Short Pump, a mixed-use development; oversaw construction of three main buildings with 339 apartments over retail spaces and led three superintendents as well as hourly employees. Served as liaison for Henrico Building Inspections and Fire Marshal.

General Superintendent for Field Operations
Led commercial concrete projects of up to 250,000 square feet. Managed and scheduled 5 superintendents and 60 employees. Ensured that the necessary material and equipment were available when needed. Oversaw several jobs at DGSC. Position was eliminated after five months during company reorganization.

Led $5 million project at multi-use commercial site, Atlee Commerce Center. Project involved removing and replacing bad soil with good soil and resolving dimension and elevation errors for retaining walls. Worked effectively with clients to ensure their needs were met.

Superintendent for Tenant Construction
Hired as the owner’s representative to supervise all phases of 100+ tenant fitups at new, state-of-the-art, 1.2 million square foot Short Pump Town Center. Responsibilities included implementation of electrical/utility connections and ensuring contractor compliance with mall regulations and local building codes. Supervised and communicated expectations to 90+ general contractors. Coordinated activities with base building contractor and local authorities.
Interviewed, hired, and managed two assistants. Cut electric meter turnaround time from two weeks to two days. Led efforts that resulted in 98% tenant space completion for grand opening. Overcame multiple delivery challenges associated with logistically difficult outdoor delivery center.

Project Manager / Operations Manager
Promoted to new position of project manager to market new business, manage client relationships, estimate project costs, obtain permit applications, coordinate construction scheduling, supervise and inspect all work, and manage equipment purchase and maintenance. Met all goals. As operations manager, brought jobs in on time and within budget. Collaborated with managers on job scope, schedule, and materials.
Projects included commercial renovation and tenant upfits. Supervised renovation of DMV interstate weigh stations from Fredericksburg to Virginia Beach. Directed/hired 15 sub crews, superintendents, and carpenters. Won several service awards. Turned failing field operations around within two weeks, gaining trust and respect of owner.
