• TESTING AND INSPECTION – Has experience dating back to 1997 both on-site performing testing and inspections, and as a manager of Engineering Technicians for various projects across the state of Virginia. Some of the projects managed, as well as participated in the on-site testing; include several multiphase, multiunit Residential and Commercial Developments, Virginia Department of Transportation roadway projects as well as various Industrial and large Warehouse projects. Consulted with clients, architects and engineers in developing testing programs for all types of construction projects. Reviewed construction testing reports and resolved problems related to construction materials.
• PROJECT EXPERIENCE –
Quality Assurance inspector for the $350 million I-895 design/build tollway, the second largest cast-in-place suspension bridge in North America. The project consisted of 8.8 miles of divided highway with a 21-span twin bridge structure across the James River and several crossroads bridges.
Testing and Inspection for the $500 million TXISteel/Chapparel Steel Factory, a state of the art steel mill in Dinwiddie County, VA. Observed the installation of over 1,300 caissons and piles; monitored the placement of 2 million cubic yards of soil, and observed and tested up to 1,000 cubic yard concrete pours.
Testing and Inspection and Quality Assurance for the Northrop Grumman Pier 3 Project in Newport News, Virginia. Provided quality assurance for a new tri-level pier for berthing/support of naval CVN 68 Nimitz Class and CVN 21 Aircraft Carriers. Responsibilities included review and supervision of technicians, and inspection of reinforcing steel and pile driving operations.
