The Trane Company, Clarksville, TN: Senior Design Specialist 09/89 – 04/98
•Redesigned the wiring harness in the unit control boxes to eliminate difficulty in manufacturing.
•Redesigned the wiring harness boards to eliminate physical stress while enhancing them ergonomically.
•Created electronic method sheets from Calma to AutoCAD 14 for visual aids in assembly of electrical
components in the large commercial screw together control boxes. These were created to incorporate
Demand Flow Technology.
•Designer for the SubA Focus Management Team. Worked with two project lines from conception to
production release.
•Designed and developed totally new electrical control boxes for the Large Unitary Air Conditioning Units.
With these new designs, created a screw together assembly, which eliminated the welding process.
Designed new doors for these components.
•Aided the Fabrication Department during the development stage wherein the NC tapes for production were set up.
•Devised a test fixture for each control box assembly to withstand wind, rain, and shipping stress ("shaker test").
•Helped set up an electronic Business Transformation system. This program allowed sales offices and field personnel to access a direct link to sales information from the home office bypassing order entry personnel. Helped in writing the rules for the Light Commercial side and created the related graphics.
•As trainer/facilitator for the Coil and Base Sheet metal area, established better working relationships between the
hourly workforce and the office personnel (used team concept).
•Converted 2D and 3D graphics from Calma to AutoCAD 12 for the assembling of the Light-Large Commercial
Units (Method Sheets).
•Designer for the Voyager 3 Commercial Unit in the areas of Gas Heat, Electric Heat, and Outdoor Fan sections.
